Priced at $10 or even $30, these will make a superb gift for a kid. Of course, you must add a lens but for a kid the 18-55 original for $10-20 will do. And guess what, kids have the 6th sense when it comes to toys. They will just know that they've got the real real toy, not plastic, not imitation, not easy to crack, clicks and clicks and focuses and beeps and really is doing something entertaining, so entertaining that they'll not get bored of it too soon. But even a teenager will appreciate such a gift.

Ur wrong. Canon 5ds/r are the best FF dslrs. For photos,I don’t need video. 50 Mega pixels.
@marcp.17526 күн бұрын
You're wrong. Canon 5Ds/R does have a worse DR, because of crammed 50 MP onto just the 35mm (135 format, 36x24mm) Sensor. 50 MP onto just that pushes lenses to the limits - not only into 2015, but still nowadays, 9 years after the release, where only few lenses could resolve that massive 50 MP. Technically, it was a 5D Mark III body, with a slapped into 50 MP Sensor, and upgraded AF system. Check out lens reviews from trusted unbiased platform Optical Limits (former PhotoZone) many lenses, which scored fine via 21-22 MP (5D II, 5D III) are worse onto the 50 MP EOS 5Ds/r...into contrast, the tonality & rendition is better with >= 50 MP via Medium Format (44x33mm) Sensor.

I bought mine in december 2005 as a present to myself. Haven't used it in a day and next o it is a d700 I bought before there were even batteries for the grip. But if I want a film look, I use my f6 with... film. Or f5 or f100, or fm2n or FE. I love the quote from the movie Kodachrome... ever hold a pair of fake breasts in your hands? No matter how good they look, they're never as good as the real thing. I would never shoot my d200 above iso 400, d700 1600, d850 6400. And the dynamic range of the d200 is limited. I shot the d700 commercially for 10 years and the d850 still blows my mind I'm not clipping shots I know the d 700 would. I don't sell my d200 because they are only going for $100! My f6 was $1000 last year.

I nave tucked in a drawer a D80 that came up with the dreaded ERR message, I took it to a meeting to get the members opinion on it. One guy while holding it said that the camera was hot. The Nikon battery was melting down! It's still in the drawer.. I now use a D7100. No problems.

Great to hear your thoughts on DSLR photography in 2024. I also recently sold all my mirrorless gear and once gain committed fully to the Pentax K system with the K1 (mk I), K3 III and the K3 III Monochrome plus LX for film. The shooting experience for me is just so much nicer with an OVF, never got completely comfortable with EVFs no matter how advanced. The K system also goes back so far and there's a ton of beautiful vintage glass to put on these bodies. It's amazing what value for money you can find in the DSLR used market these days with everyone jumping to mirrorless.

I want an F3. I have an AE-1 and a Minolta SRT 202. I would sell both to get an F3. The Canon F1 was similar. I had a chance to buy a mint F3 with the 55mm micro lens for $650 US but I didn't and it sold before I changed my mind. A friend in another state has an F4 and an FM2 for sale. She said they're in mint condition. I can get both for $400. She said she would take $125 for the FM2 and I think that camera sells for close to $300.

I worked with the D1, D1x and the D2x. Yes with the f2.8 Zoom lenses and the 12-24DX lens. The D1X was a gamechanger. It’s a great camera! A workhorse! Never failed. You always knew the endresult. I used it a lot for portraits in the studio. I changed later to the Fuji S3pro with an amazing skin tone. What a difference! The workflow of Nikon was always great. Fuji was terrible. The Fuji was several times at the service. This Fuji was an amateur camera with a superb sensor. Nikon was always stable. After Fuji I went back to Nikon D2X. This was a step in pixels. Sometimes I had the feeling the D1X was still better in colors (and raw).

I have had mine for quite a while now ( about 5 years) and I did not expect much out of the 4.1 MP sensor. I agree that if you shoot over 800 ISO JPEGs there will be noise. At 1600 it is pretty severe. However, I captured a head shot of my dog (filled the frame) at 800, indoors using bounced flash, and as a TIFF file, that absolutely blew me away. I printed it to 13"X19" and I would challenge anyone to guess what the sensor size was that captured that image. No pixelation at all, each hair on his face cleanly defined, absolutely stunning. There is something going o with the file processing since these TIFF files seem to larger than the ones I get from my D3s (12 vs 9.4 MB). Of course the detail in the scene influences that heavily, but I have shot enough of each to know that the D2Hs TIFF files are larger. I think what limits the D2Hs is the narrow range of conditions under which good results can be had. As someone else in this thread commented, just get a D3 (I would say D3s) and be done with it. Still have my D3s and will not part with it. I am convinced the D2Hs is a hidden gem if you have the patience to use it in its narrow range of good performance.

Nope - The greatest CCD camera ever was the Fuji S3 - And on top of everything else ... that Fuji camera was built like a Sherman tank when compared to the cameras of today, and also back then, as well. You know, a magnesium alloy body. Sort of like a tough hockey puck.

Hi, some advice please. I run 3x D7100 bodys. 3x DX lenses, 2x FX lenses. Wanted to go mirrorless, but may hold fire for another few years and sell up my 2x DX bodys, and 3x DX lenses. Then purchase 2x D800 body, or 1x D800 body with a D750 or D3. I shoot anything from landscape, portraits, mountain biking, nature, festivals/concerts, so looking for an allround setup. I don't use flash or any photoshop or Lightroom, all my work is Jpeg fine. What's your advice please? All I been advised is there could be a waiting list of up to 3 months for DSLR parts overseas, and the way forward is mirrorless as DSLR now in transition of being phased out?
@robbellphotoАй бұрын
Hi mate. Sounds for sure like you’re running a business with that gear ;-). The D800 is great as you can crop it to DX at the touch of a button to reduce the MP size for editing. That way you can also still use the DX lens you own. I like an optical view finder also rather than an EVF. Plus I do not mind the DSLR size. You can buy adapters for your glass to mirrorless however;-). I like my DSLR set up. Sold my Fuji XT.
