It absolutely was! It will be the next review I'll upload after the one that I programmed for this week. I need to put my thoughts in a video because the amount of time I spent thinking about such a short book.. just wow!

Hi Kristina! "Piranesi" is one of my all-time favorite books, and I too struggled getting through the very beginning, because I like going into novellas completely blind. With books like this one, I think there is a massive payoff for the reader knowing as little as possible. Currently I am listening to Clarke's, "Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell" for Big Book Summer and read her essay on Jane Austen last month. I think Clarke is so masterful and brilliant, and I can't wait for her to release a new novel. Happy reading! xx

Good luck with your summer tbr! I've heard really good things about My Brilliant Friend.

Yay for the memories linked to the books and vice versa! You look so beautiful in this video (always, actually 🥰) Yes, an absolute yes to your thoughts on languages - it feels like I experience a different kind of emotions... well, they are the same but somehow feel different depending on the language :) And yes, I totally get your feelings about The Secret Garden, Kristina - you will notice those moments that were a bit unsettling for you as a child. The Secret Garden is a beautiful, special story, I have to re-read it someday :)

My favourite MG books is the Penderwicks series! Um, the last Middle Grade I've read... 🤔Probably, it was the Magic Flower Shop series by Gina Mayer - she's a German author and I was reading these delightful books (11) with fantastic covers in Russian translation, which turned out to be very good and, as one of the readers said, very close to the original. Happy Spring, Kristina! 🌸And Happy Reading! 🥰

Big Friendship sounds like a book I should read, I have struggled with a couple of my friendships in the past and not knowing how I could keep people close 😂 I think I will pick it up to see what I can learn from it! You just reminded me to read Kim Jiyoung, I have that in Chinese translation, and haven't read yet. Aww glad you have a book that reminds you about your honeymoon in Japan 🥰 that's such a lovely thing. OMG I loved how you describe "M", how society creates monsters and no one stopped him when it was needed, so thrilling and it is still happening now especially in the States. So so so scary. Adding to my TBR list. Such a lovely video, always nice to see your videos popping up Kristina 💕

100% with you on setting not many particular goals to really enjoy reading! And so many things you said are also something I intend to do - reading books in different languages, buying second hand books etc. Happy new year! Wish you the best of everything you may desire too 🥰

Happy New Year, dear Kristina!!! And thank you so much!!! 🥰 Yes! Same here, when I wasn't in a reading mood I didn't force myself. Reading is magic - and let it stay this way! Surprisingly, 74 books is a number of books I had read last year. And most importantly I discovered the 3 all-time favourites! And one of them is with the name "The Book Club" :D I hope the situation with your house will be sorted out soon!!! !!! I was sorry to hear about your health issues during the year and your books and everything you had acquired for your new home being damaged because of the flooding. So sorry. I have a feeling that when summer comes you and your husband will be there, in your new beautiful home!!! Or, most likely, sooner? :)

@@cosynovelniche Thank you so much! :) My most favourites I happened to read at the end of the year 🙂 were: 1. "The Magic of Lemon Drop Pie" by Rachel Linden 2. "The Book Club" by Roisin Meaney (unexpectedly - it was sitting on my shelves for a couple of years because of its unappealing cover. But the story was so beautiful!) 3. "Nightfall in the Garden of Deep Time" by Tracy Higley There, in a later book, was a similar to yours situation with books being stored in a basement of a bookshop the main character was an owner of. Luckily the flooding happened during the daytime and all the possessions were saved! !!! 💗

I think The Song of Achilles is a great choice for your fall TBR! I myself love to read Greek Mythology when it's still sunny but a bit of coolness there already is in the air. I read slower this year and failed to finish My Magnolia Summer during the summer! But it's still very much sunshiny here as well, so I hope that at least a couple of titles that capture summer vibes will make a smooth transition into my this month tbr:) Happy Reading! 🌞🥰📚

Oh no! I'm sorry you lost your backpack on the plane :( We just came back from a trip and it's so stressful dealing with planes and luggages. The Book that wouldn't burn looks stunning! Fifty Sounds reminds me of a book talking about a person learning English as second language while fall in love (?) called A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary For Lovers by Guo Xiaolu. They maybe very different because I read neither of the books, but the concept intrigues me so much! Look forward to your travel vlogs!

I'm so, so happy for you, Kristina!!! Oh yay for your "couple of couples" books" 😉.Tales from the Cafe" is my favourite from the three books in the series I've read so far. And the fourth one has already been translated into Italian. But, like in my case, I have read the first book in English and am surely intended to experience this series in English further on! Love Kyoto! Ooh, meeting there a Booktube friend while being in Japan - did it happen by accident? I think you might enjoy "Omoiyari" written by Erin Niimi Longhurst, a half-Japanese, half-British writer. I like the way it's written - with all the people in mind. "Even the smallest of considerate actions can make a world of difference". 🥰

The title "Half a Soul" made me pondering if it's really possible for a person to have half a soul? Can a soul be divided into parts or fractures... And how one feels with half a soul and where's another half - here on the Earth or belongs to another person... Can they be considered relatives then? Hope you enjoy the book, Kristina! And I'll bet it's a pleasant feeling to hold this book in the hands because of its green spring colour :) I added "The Dun Cow Rib: A Very Natural Childhood" to my list, it looks and sounds like something I'd love to read! Happy Reading, Kristina! And a Happy Spring to you too! :)
