Would be perfect if I could make my hands cooperate. I'm a left handed knitter but of course there's not A SINGLE instructional video for stranded work thats for left handers. And trying to visualize the reverse isn't working. I'm gonna set it down for now before I end up throwing it through a window and come back to it tomorrow.

That's perfect. I'm doing my first steek. I was wondering whether to pick up before cutting and this confirms my thoughts. But also the tip about picking up both sides of the stitch to make the cut steek sit flatter is so helpful.

Thank you, thank you!!! I’m converting a Marie Wallin pattern that is designed to be knit flat to be knit in the round and this is exactly the detail I needed to know for the neck and armholes.

So glad I found this. I have been looking and looking for information on how to do this. Most videos on steeks just say now pick up stitches for button band or edge and leave it at that.

Very helpful and clearly explained. I'm knitting the Sanqhuar Gansey in the round and have been looking for helpful methods for armhole steeks. Your demo of your casting on method is excellent. Thank you.
