And in winters this ENTIRE area is covered in snow with temperatures reaching as low as -35°C!!
@RebelSkye-y3c5 күн бұрын
@akshxtpatel So it would be difficult to travel during winter, I imagine. I bet it is still just as beautiful. To see with my own eyes would be a dream come true.
@akshxtpatel5 күн бұрын
@@RebelSkye-y3c it is difficult indeed. But in winters it's literally heaven. In summer times, I wouldn't recommend it because it's hella dusty and hot. 4x4 expeditions are open for 12 months straight. Only bikes and Minibuses are not allowed until the roads are cleared. You should definitely check out places like Sonamarg, Pahalgam & Gulmarg in Kashmir, India. Gulmarg is the only place in India where Lupine flowers bloom & has the second longest and highest cable car in the world. Kashmir is the real heaven.

My trip was late august and early septemeber. When you have breeze from the bike it's very pleasant. Over 4000m it gets cold and you need layers :-)

Hello, Great Video. Where did you start from this day? Manali to Kaza is about 180km on google maps. Did you ride through the tunnel or go over the Rohtang Pass? I have travelled Kaza - Manali in a car in 2015 and hope to ride Kaza - Manali by motorbike in July 2025. If I do, I expect to go from Kaza to Losar on the first day, then Losar to Manali the following day.

Damn pretty much all of Shinkula Pass is paved now heh? :). I really need to do it this year before all of Zanskar is ashpalted out. Looks like a blast tho :)

Awesome - great ride and thanks for sharing - lucky you get a little bit of "adventure unpaved". I want to do this next Sept., and rather go solo rathe than in the large groups they have - be great if i could chat with you about it if you have time. Enjoyed your videos- thanks

It's a heck of an adventure and I could/should have been more ambitious but had to get back to wifi for work. I didn't need waterproofs except for one day, wear bike gear (I have Rev'it Eclipse top and bottom.. perfect) you don't need power, and download maps to your phone coz there's no mobile signal anywhere. If you have any riding experience it's not that dangerous, just hard work. It was amazing, but it will be far more paved next year for sure. I'm off to Nepal in May for some more! Have a great trip!

I don't know what you're going to do if you have a flat tire in the middle of nowhere.
@steve.disney22 күн бұрын
Always an issue! These bikes have tubed tyres so can be fixed on the go. I did get a flat a couple of days later.

Lenny Maclean was dying during the making of this film, shows how tough he was, that he got through it all while often out of breath and in a lot of pain.
