Just ran into your channel, love the content. You should do a walk around of your WK! I just got an 05 and was wondering if you were running the HD springs on your EMU kit or the regular springs? Also, any hints on other suspension parts you may have add. Thx and God Bless - Keep that content rolling

It's a OME HD full 2 inch kit with added Rusty's 10mm leveling spacer in the front, which gave it about another inch of lift and added Rusty's 2 inch poly spacers in the rear, but I removed the stock spring isolators in the rear where the spacer goes so I gained about an inch in the rear on top of the 2" OME So about 3 inches total lift. I also threw on some PRO upper control arms for better geometry. Tires are 285/70r17 Kenda Klever R/T KR601 riding on JL Rubicon wheels and running 1.25 inch wheel spacers.

As an '06 WK owner (but the 4.7 :( ) Can I be 'that guy' and ask what your setup is? lift/spacers etc? I've got an OME MD with 1" spacers on mine running factory wheels and 265/65/17s with no rub unless they bottom out. Also, how do you like those Kenda tires?

Thank you but No it's not just that easy lol. We have to buy firewood permits from the BLM "Bureau Of Land Management" and there are only certain areas where we can cut "dead" firewood. We can't cut living "green" trees and have to follow strict rules for firewood cutting.

hello!is ur wk compareable to xj off road?
@GOTDAMITOFFROAD3 ай бұрын
Well... it depends on what your going for. The WK, at least the ones with quadra-drive 2 and 5.7L hemi are amazing off road for what they are, cause it essentially has front and rear locking diffs "ELSD". And the hemi has plenty of power to scream up those big dunes and with the independent front suspension it rides like a caddie doing it! The XJ only has a rear locker so far and can def keep up if not do better on the rocks, simply cause it articulates and keep its tires planted better. But it's a bit smaller, a bit rougher riding and can't power up those big dunes like the WK can. Soo I'd say if you're looking for a very capable Overlander type vehicle I would go with the WK with QD2. And if you're wanting to do a bit more extreme stuff go with the XJ.

Too bad for Jeep. I broke an axle shaft a year ago but in the worst place on the trail. It was so steep that I couldn't get out of the Jeep until they strapped me down. I left the Jeep in the woods until the second day because it was too dangerous to go down with just RWD. The next day we fixed it. 😁 It's all part of sport.

Have you had any issues with your WK where the electrical warning light comes on and the ESP disabled flashed across the message screen? I am having those issues right now, my WK is just like yours.
@GOTDAMITOFFROAD3 ай бұрын
Yes I've had that and it was a bad wheel speed sensor, easy fix. I'm not saying that is what is wrong with yours, but it's one of the things it could be.. do you have a OBD 2 scanner?
@PreparedOverlander3 ай бұрын
@@GOTDAMITOFFROAD Yes I do, I have Jscan and BlueDriver. I have replaced the throttle body, and I am a new gas pedal coming today. The trouble code was said it was the "Throttle/Pedal Position Sensor E Maximum Stop Performance". It was also for D as well. P2166 and P2167. I may have to look at the wheel speed sensor as well
@PreparedOverlander3 ай бұрын
@ITOFFROAD I looked up that sensor, and how to replace it. O'Reilys shows a sensor with wires looks like they go to the ABS, but the video shows what they are calling a rear wheel speed sensor installed in the transmission. Which one would I be looking for? I do not have a lot of mechanical experience besides the basic stuff.

@GOTDAMITOFFROAD4 ай бұрын
Yes you will definitely need a lift kit. And will also need to do what is called "the pinch weld mod" it's when you cut some metal in the wheel well and pound it over flat. There are youtube vids about it.
