1:34 theory: spock is reverting to a vulcan pre abandoning-emotion. he hesitates before he puts mccoy down, and was ABSOLUTELY refraining from kissing him. he even leans in ever so slightly after hesitating, and his face softens before he regains his logical composure and quickly puts bones down side note: imo the most compelling Spones scene(besides the gratuitous eye sex EVERYWHERE) is from Search For Spock, when bones admits he misses spock to spock's body "I'm gonna tell you something that I... never thought I'd hear myself say. But it seems I've... missed you. And I don't know if I could stand to lose you again." the heartbreak in those eyes when he says it and there's no smart-ass logical reply/veiled compliment nearly made me SOB

in the ep Requiem for Methuselah, Kirk had feelings for Rayner and was upset when she died. So McCoy gave Spock a speech that love makes people do crazy and risky things and that Spock would never understand. Then I look at everything Spock did for McCoy (eg when Spock was going to stay with McCoy in the snow even if it would have killed them both 1:52 ) Then I also look at everything McCoy did for Spock (eg. hypo him so himself would be taken away instead even if it caused his own death 0:30 )
