Hi Doug, hope you’re doing well! I’m making my “symphonic” debut on banjo with the Stanford Symphony this weekend. It’s all plectrum banjo and I was wondering what thickness of pick do you like to use? Thanks and I hope you’re well!

That’s great! Good thing there are such wonderful treatments for this! I had NA on both hands too. It was so minimal, I’ve had cavities filled that were worse haha. Thanks for chatting! It’s helpful for me to hear how effective it’s been for you. I’ll be a happy camper if I’m playing as well as you in 13 years! If I ever see you at Disneyland I’ll be sure to say hi and thanks!

Hi Doug, I'm really enjoying all of these videos and getting to know your playing! I'm a professional guitarist in San Francisco. Would you mind if I emailed you some guitar/banjo related questions? Thanks! -Mike

I understand and I think that's a VERY good practice. My question is a bit lengthy for the comments section so I sent an email to an address I found on your website. Hopefully it still works.

@@DougsWorldOnaString Hi Doug, I don't think the email I found works anymore. Anyway, my guitar/banjo "related" question has to do with a testimonial I read that you wrote for a Dr. Nathan around 2009. Are you the same Doug Mattocks that wrote that testimonial? If so, I have the same issue as a guitarist and seeing you play so well is very inspirational for me! If you didn't write that testimonial, then my apologies... I'm really enjoying all of the videos and your music anyway! All the best, Mike

Your concert on VHS gets played in my home, and all the other music of yours that is on CD's and cassettes. My late husband and I attended the concert of The Rhythm Brother's in Redmond Oregon I think in the late 1990's or in 2000's. Much Love!!! Kelly!!!

Thank you very much Mrs. McDonald and I do remember the concert in Redmond, Oregon - I truly loved doing those concerts but have now reached the age of 72 and my playing days are mostly regulated to Disneyland (a mere 7 miles from my home in Fullerton, CA). Doug

Doug, my parents, Pat and Si Williams, were lucky enough to meet you, John and Dave when you all were playing at the "Reno" in Colonial Beach, VA years ago (70's?) and then we met Dick and Robin and Rick Yopp. My husband, Skip and I, then on our way to New Zealand 1982, stopped in CA and saw you and Dick at Disneyland. Mom passed in 2015 and left your Tin Rainbow Ragtimers, Ltd Authentic Riverboat Jazz Album, which I am so happy to have and have introduced my children to. I hope you are well and would love to keep in touch with you.

Hi Karen AND I do remember your parents --- they were GREAT people who I appreciated very much AND I really appreciate you getting in touch - believe it or not I'm still at Disneyland playing with two different jazz bands (when needed by their permanent players who have to have time off) and still enjoying it at the ripe old age of 71.... (SEE: kzbin.info) Just got your PayPal order and will send it out tomorrow (Monday Jan31 2022).... I've been to New Zealand many times (as well as Australia) as a comic with Holland America Cruise Line playing the banjo and doing jokes - can there be a more lucky person???? SO, I'm doing well, I'm happy, I'm still playing AND I've just heard from the daughter of Pat and Si Williams...... thank you very much: Doug
