If there's one thing we need its more movies about the US and Confederate Marines that served during the Civil War. This is the only movie thats ever depicted them and only for a few brief moments.

One of my favorite moments in the movie. After learning that this scene was not scripted it became even more special. I'm not a history expert but I appreciate the history of this country and how it came to be. And this scene always makes me choke up!

Can’t even imagine what was going through Martin Sheen’s mind as he was greeted by all the reenactors. This scene alone shows why so many men on both sides of the war had great respect for General Lee and why he was viewed as the most beloved General.

Stephen Lang IS Thomas J. Jackson. His portrayal is far and away the most accurate part of this film

Blondie didn't know his name, where he lived, or if he has any family, all he knew was that this young soldier was in pain, dying and scared. Being there to keep him company, giving him his coat, and sharing a cigar was all that Blondie could do and maybe that was enough for the soldier to know he was cared for at the end.

No american soldier rode in an english saddle in The Civil War both sides had M1859 Mclellan saddles. Lee never in his life would have rode in an english saddle so why is he on one in this stupid show lol

This film simply would not have happened without the dedication and passion of the thousands of volunteer reenactors (some who literally brought their own cannons) and man, just what a cool scene for them to have created

I was in this scene. It was not planned or part of the script, but a spontaneous reaction of the cast seeing Lee. The director on the set instantly called for a camera to film it. You can see how moved Martin Sheen was by the reaction he received.

I have watched horror movies my entire life. But when you think about the context of what is happening in this scene, West Point splitting apart, the country splitting apart, I what to scream...Don't You Know What This Means?!! Politicians on both sides, Sit Down! Stop for God's Sake. It is the saddest moment in any motion picture. It makes me cringe. Band Leader sound Dixie. 600,000 men gone.

Over one million people attended Grant's funeral including General Johnston. "Let there be peace" on his tomb. Lee was lucky that Grant paroled him.
