@KMaffittGAGT okay that makes a lot more sense. Also, the breather tube doesn't connect to anything, right? only the new metal part with the IAT sensor? One last question, can I just modify it into a short ram intake and not put it down by the washer fluid and instead keep it up where the old one was? I say this because I'm having a lot of trouble putting it through the hole with the washer fluid and think this might just be easier

@@o_Lovly from the back valve cover will go to the intake, otherwise you'll have a vacuum leak. And you can, however the air temp will be really high and cause it not run as well as it can.

@@VhonYT the rust took over. I got 5 years out of it and got it super cheap. So it fulfilled the it's duty lol. Both sides front to back the floor was separated from the sides. Both fenders were no longer attached. The front cradle has some holes starting and the rear frame where the subframe attached was soft and disappearing. Damn shame because it was a good running car. But driving down the road it was not stable.

I'm wondering if there's a string of bad or incorrectly spec'd parts. I've noticed a ton of people changing parts multiple times before getting the 50-60psi here lately. At least on a stock one, it shouldn't really effect it too bad.

@@VacuumsAndShampooerGuy I've found it to be the regulators causing issues. I grabbed a cheap pump and it built and held pressure when I bench tested it. @@VhonYT like 90% of them have a peeling dash. No replacements and hard to find good ones. Heat glue and even screws will help but not guaranteed. Radios can't be interchanged like that. I don't believe the grand Prix ones are wired to work with the grand am wiring. Especially the next gen. When using other stock radios from another car they'll need unlocked by the dealer. For a fob. 99-00 supposedly there's a sequence without a programmer. But I could never get it to work, need a scan tool to activate the learning. The ones that dorman sells with fobs doesn't work correctly.

Can I just swap the complete engine from 3.5 to a 3.4?
@KMaffittGAGT
@KMaffittGAGT 2 ай бұрын
That requires a trigger for the crank sensor. On the crank it has a different number of teeth for the ignition coils. It won't run without it. Sadly no one produces it anymore. When my 3.5 blew up I was gonna have to go back to a 3.4 until someone in the community hooked me up with one they had laying around.
