To connect HDMI Modded NES to Component, use HDMI to Component converter To connect HDMI Modded NES to SCART, use HDMI to SCART converter. Component and SCART are RGB input and it supports RGB, 720p & 1080p. Composite doesn't support RGB, 720p & 1080p and it only supports CVBS, 480p/576p

Desoldering is a job of skill. The track got lifted because of too much heat for too long, or there was a tiny amount of solder still present when pulling the chip out. The best advice is don't let the iron dwell too long on the pin. Wiggle the pin forward a bit also when sucking so solder doesn't stay behind the pin. The best thing you can do is buy a vacuum desolder tool such as the Hakko FR-301. For all the years I lifted pads, or couldn't get parts out, that was the best money I ever spent on a tool.

Video game distribution and releases are a really fun and wide section of retro game collecting. It brings a lot of questions too, like, do you collect reprints with different art (like Punch-Out!!! or Metroid) as separate game carts, or is one good enough. If not, do you then need the EU versions or even the Famicom ones, etc. It can really help to set your limits if you do collect "everything". I (Jerome) love hearing accounts of how revisiting these videos brings new layers to light, it's really motivating me to get back into it.
