Nicholas Winton is the ultimate hero… a TRUE SIR, a true Knight. ❤

To imagine the lives these people lived. The families they raised. The families their families raised. None of it would've happened without just one man. Now imagine what kind of world we'd live in if everyone was that compassionate.

This is one of those perfect moments. They don’t come around a lot but when they do wow is it powerful.

The Dutch Ms. Truus Wijsmuller negotiated personally the "kindertransport" on behalve of the London Jewish community ( they had to pay the cost !) and Dutch welfare organizations with SS-Obersturmbannführer Adolf Eichmann ( convicted and hanged in Israel in 1962) in Vienna in 1938. If she was able to arrange the train transport from Vienna via Holland to London in 5 days Eichmann would give his approval. Through Dutch and British "Refugee Children's Movement[" organizations which included Mr. Winton, in 5 days the first "kindertransport" train with 700 children left for Hoek van Holland (Rotterdam) And so it happened that Truus Wijsmuller saved 10.000 Jewish children from Austria ! Recently had a conversation with someone who thinks the "Germans weren't so bad; this was simply a response to being neutered in WW1." So Germans had to attack innocent kids as a "response", eh?

My grandfather passed away almost a year ago. The family just discovered that, while living modestly and never made a high income, he accumulated over a million dollar and gave away almost as much. He never told anyone. He was 96 when he left us. I miss him so much. He may not be a hero like Sir Nicholas Winton but they are from the same generation, tough, resilient and proud. And good Christians

How he got so emotional just to see one of the children he saved - what a beautiful man.
