Acrylics will never be like lacquers…the latter spraying with no tip dry properly thinned…but the respirator, spray booth, etc…I’ll pass except for my most demanding airbrush requirement as 1/72 model aircraft Luftwaffe mottling.

@@NorthernNevadan-x2k oh yes laquers and solvent is the best. I use to thin down different colours of Tremclad which is a one stage enamel rust paint and it was the best spray ever , no tip dry. I think for anyone working in the acrylic application this reducer foresure is one of the best we have seen so far 😃👍👍

4011 is junk, 4021 is even superior to the ole reliable, 4012.

I had the little V back in the early '90s and I absolutely LOVED that V2 head - incredible performance from that nozzle size... I used to turn up a special aircap for it by hand which made it even better... I gave it away to a friend back in 2000 or so and although I was happy to do that, I with I still had it for nostalgia's sake! Lovely little thing... W

Interesting use of the Mendez texture stencils--when you did the layer of black it really added a lot of depth. Spraying candies over this would be even better. Sometimes I lightly mist areas with pearl pigments as well. I recently got a bottle of the 2021 reducer but haven't used it enough to say if I like it or not...I'm used to using distilled water for reducing all my water-based paints--E'tac, Createx, Aqua Flow, and Medea/Comart. Tonight I'm going to be using my new H & S 2024 Evolution CRPlus solow/ the new 0.28 mm needle/nozzle that just arrived yesterday. I'll also be using the new 4021 reducer w/ Createx Illustration opaque white as well as Candy2O colors....on black paper card stock and envelopes. Time to paint now...

Thank you my friend 😃❤️👍 please let me know how you like your new evolution 2024? I use to have an infinity but so disliked the trigger response. I hear that the new evolution 2024 model has a beautiful trigger response and has a .28 mm needle. Such a beautiful looking brush

It’s ok still tip dry

True it is. I liked that I had to wipe off such a small bit of tip dry only once within a time span of an hour opposed to every 40-60 seconds when mixed with distilled water. It’s been a game changer forsure

But does it come with longer drying time? I use a lot of masking techniques.

I found it dried fairly normal as it would with 4020, or 4013.

I used an iwata hpcs eclipse and there was little to no tip dry. But the hpcs has a .35 mm needle and tip. I’m sure it might be different with my micron. I think it will still tip dry depending on temperature , humidity etc. I was happy to be able to spray white paint for an hour and only have to remove a very slight amount. lol usually when I mix createx illustration paint with water I have to remove tip dry every 10 seconds lol

I think one of the tricks is to let it sit for 10-15 minutes before spraying

Yo! What’s happening, thank you for sharing your experience with this new reducer. I saw Spray Gunner advertise this product. They showed how to reduce/mix the paint but did not demonstrate on the video how it reduced tip dry.

Thanks 😃👍 yes I wanted to share my experience in the use of this new reducer. I don’t know the technicals of this product and I hope that createx themselves will produce some new videos to discuss the finer details of 4021.

Hi, perhaps I missed it in the video, but are you using the V-1 or the V-2 size assembly? I actually got my hands on an old M8 recently, which was the V's predecessor, made sometime around 1940. The one I picked up came with the .66mm assembly and I am toying with the idea of picking up the .245mm needle/tip/cap. It's amazing that you can still get parts for these old brushes!

Have to agree about the drop off of quality with later Paasche airbrushes, I bought a VL back in the 70s as my first airbrush and I loved the thing, I decided to retire it a few years ago and bought a newer VL which I really didn't like at all, the quality of the finish and construction was much cheaper than my old faithful, so she got dragged out of retirement... a friend gave me a box of a half dozen or so V brushes in various states of repair for free, I set about restoring them and fell in love with the versatility of them and what could be achieved with them. Brilliant airbrush

I don't know those brushes, But my VL was the biggest piece of crap I've ever used. It's siphon fed and a huge air hog. It has totally soured me on Paasche. I considered trying a Talon or Vision to do a review on my airbrush channel.
@colinbeachey196
@colinbeachey196 Жыл бұрын
I agree! The VL is really just an old industry workhorse that was cheap and easy to use. Great for T shirts but not a smooth sprayer for anything else, nothing like a Iwata HPCS eclipse, HPS performance plus siphon or some of the badger models. I do find my talon siphon feed does perform much better. The old Paasche V, VJR and VSR 90 were very similar in head assembly but had a smoother spray due to being side and gravity feed format. Any siphon feed airbrush requires far more air pressure to pull the paint to atomize. The VL usually ran decent at 60-70+ psi and createx or aquaflow straight out of the bottle.
