What’s the difference in the L35 and H35 have you used both?
@ChasetheWildNZ16 күн бұрын
@varmint223 the L35 had the lower resolution sensor. 384 vs 640. Aldo the base magnification is higher with the L35. The rest is pretty similar. I'd recommend going for the 640 res sensor every day if you can save your pennies. I know a sale or two will be coming up in NZ nearer the roar. The L35 higher base mag means it's more suited for glassing hills and slopes 300m + away from you and less useful up close for wallaby and rabbits etc. T Just a smaller field of view of that makes sense

@@ChasetheWildNZ Culling is not hunting. To get your British Army Sniper badge, you have to cross at least 1600 metres unseen by the strategically placed observers, if you are seen at any point up until an observer, who is summoned to the shooter by the shooter by commands giving distance and directions is able to touch the shooter, whose shot had to be under 400 metres, is able to touch the shooter . At the point where the observer summoned to the shooter is standing by the shooter and can touch him the summoned observer asks the other observer if any can see the shooter ,if so the shooter fails. The summoned observer asks the same of all the other observers each time the shooter gives the summoned observer directions to him. So effectively trained qualified snipers have been taught an essential element of hunting, moving about but being unseen by numerous sets of eyes.
@ChasetheWildNZАй бұрын
@jamescrydeman540 I thought it was under 200m they had to get here. I believe it's 200m here in Nz. I have a few mates who have passed that and were snipers back in the day.
@jamescrydeman540Ай бұрын
@@ChasetheWildNZ The friend with the snipers badge said in Britain you start out in a valley with observers posted all round and through it, you start 2000 metres from the target and are not allowed to shoot until you have passed 1600 mteres, you can go further if you wish, It’s more about the concealment than the marksmanship, though by this stage of your military development and with your interest in the snipers badge your marksmanship is probably up there anyway.
@ChasetheWildNZАй бұрын
@jamescrydeman540 yes it's all about concealment and observations. I think they then have to back out and be unseen after their shot too! Sadly their factory ammo let's them down a bit on the shooting front. We have competed against the NZ team in a civilian long range and hunting competition out to 2kms and their ammo wasn't doing them favour's with ES of over 70fps reliable hits out far aren't really possible

@ChasetheWildNZАй бұрын
@richardt.4224 thanks mate! Good work on those possums
@johnmead8437Ай бұрын
Shooting usually achieves limited control. Those 700 possums could probably have been killed in 1/10th of the time, without leaving the remnant population extremely neophobic. Quite likely nowhere near as "cleaned out" as observed. This principle extends to most pest species. Coupled with the "management, "harvest", "take one for control", "that one has potential (over 50% of such common assessments are fanciful), "recover all the kai/meat" cult's ineffective ability, pests have thrived. Rec hunting has been a problem in most places due to that attitude. The Save the thar & anti 1080 stickers on k hunters vehicles show what is within. The country being over-run with damaging pests most places not subject to specific pest control operations, and some with them. Competent shooting does have a highly significant place, as does open fee free recreational hunting. Without block systems (different from restricted access like the Thar wilderness zones landing sites), which have little practical merit apart from pest protection.

@ChasetheWildNZАй бұрын

@@ChasetheWildNZ The number of animals limping around due to not being able to smash such shots wouldn't make some swoon in awe. It's likely much film isn't shown widely. Or much from a lot closer. Many can't shoot consistently at 100m. And have seen a few long-range specialists miss at short range. But when on it's spectacular, and seeing someone shooting several is refreshing, especially without the preaching about harvest and ethics.
