Both sides turned evil because they were one of the same with pretty much wanting to over power people who went through way more issues then they have , and has sacrificed allot of their time for there children and others as well with putting most of their time in for free with caring . Basically the two women in the whole thing was pretty much brainwashed by both sides and they knew this because they tested their hearts , While they then made sure the other children remained in the area because they knew they would have grown up to be one of them, which is why only so many children were left go that were not like the rest . That is basically how I see the whole thing . Her child and other children were hard to get too, mainly because they pretty much tested their heart of those children how easily they followed orders and would not try to free themselves but be on their best behavior to get what they want. Where they knew those children would have eventually turned on the righteous parent anyway as they gotten older, and would have corrupted another area where it would start all over again .
