This video has been so useful to identify which Bill Lawrence I had in my old second hand Ibanez RG. Thank you! Talking about the Bill Lawrence U.S.A (fake one) are you able to tell which wire is which? I mean, I found a wiring diagram and installed it accordingly but it's not working. - Red: hot - Black: ground - White & Green: coil tap (so I just soldered them together and taped them off) Is this correct?

Nice, I clipped C11 & C12 to give me a flat EQ. Same as R28, just clip one leg and bend it out of the way.

3 year old video, but I gotta interject here. Those aren’t orange drops. They’re Philips MKT 368 series caps, which were a second generation of the mullard tropical fish cap. The tropical fish cap was nearly identical in spec and construction to the mullard mustard cap. Philips was the parent company of mullard. So, in short, those orange caps were a worthy replacement for a mustard capacitor. So you removed vintage spec mullard caps and put in Sozos. Great job 🥴

Your video is not accurate because Nuno didn't use an L500XL, if you read the article he actully used the L500 Lead pickup

Do you have to use RG-174U shielded coax for the input wiring to the first stage? The only stuff I have on hand is 50 Ohm RG58U. I am thinking of shielding the high treble input on my JMP 1987 clone, because its picking up quite a bit of EMI/RFI here. It has a few vintage parts that might need replacing too. Mustard caps. Carbon comp resistors, and old can caps, etc. I live in NZ. Nobody in the country sells all that stuff, although one tube seller has a very limited range of coupling and can caps. Not the 0.68UF one I need though. I have to pay international shipping for a part that costs a few bucks. Paradise has its downsides huh. P.S. Nice job sorting your amp out. My nephew's dad had a JMP 2203 back in the 1980s. The best sounding amp I have ever heard in person. He traded it in for a brand new JCM 900 High-Gain- Dual Reverb. I've never let him forget that move. He's played support gigs for Motorhead and Megadeth etc.

Dude i use Sozo's in more or less all my marshalls and for every application except post EQ coupling, where i use vintage mustards or the odd cathode where i use a tant. Its my opinion that theyre better than Mallory 150s, Sprague 715s, 716s, Wima, Mojo, Solen, Kemet, stock Marshall or any lytic where applicable. Ive had them darken and/or fizz and sterilize many other circuits but not the Marshall 1987, SL MKII, 2204, 4104 and 2203. Plus they sound noticabley better after about 10 hours.

The MK2 amps never had mustard caps but mainly Philips green coupling caps and yellow chicklets. The orange drops were certainly replacements but high quality caps . Replace the of a ceramic cap by a mica one sure will change the sound quite a lot, maybe more than the solo caps

I think the engines had a mechanical problem that wasn't fuel related because the pilot dumped fuel as they were going down to prevent a fire from burning everyone alive. The aircraft should have undergone strict maintenance before Lenyrd Skynyrd even stepped foot onto it. This entire situation was caused by the company that booked them onto that aircraft. The pilots are not at fault and did the correct thing and are not to be blamed for anything.

Dude you need to go research the story there is so much wrong with what you are saying right now in this video has been up for four years and you're wrong about most of it. the engine did not fall off. the wing was torn off because it was hitting trees, the right Engine went dead and then the other one went dead because it ran out of fuel because the gauges didn't work and they where putting a stick in the wing tank to see how much fuel was in it. Obviously the tank wasn't letting them know or they were stupid because there wasn't enough fuel in the plane to begin with and they didn't feel it up they thought it was full by the stick

The record label, tour manager, executives should of had them ith the best plane, the best pilots, the most professional transportation possible. Just self serving people, with had examples,Patsy cline, buddy Holley,@ others. Ridiculous lack of executive leadership costing everyone to lose. So sad,as Skynyrd was improving. They are all gone@ they are known for crash,as much as their awesome music. Skynyrd still tours ,but no new music of that quality since 77. Tons of people still making money. Has to be one of the greatest bands of all time.

The pilots were known to drink whiskey while flying Aerosmith turned diwn buying this scrap heap of a plane , excessive miles on this junker plane, pilots did not listen to ATC orders numerous times , there are things not in FAA crash report , some things you all shall never know. Rest in peace Ronnie, Cassie , Steve and others. Best band on earth : Lynyrd Skynyrd ❤!

Neither of these are the "fake" Bill Lawrence pickups! The all black back one is referred to as the "Bill and Becky" L500XL originally wound and built by Bill himself and the other one (The Wilde Bill Lawrence L500XL) is wound and built by Bill's family after Bill's passing. The "Fake" Bill Lawrence is the ones you see with the name labeled in white on the front of the lower coil of the pickup that says " Bill Lawrence USA". Research the story behind how an ex-partner of Bill's was able to , somehow, take off with the name and design and started his own company making these pickups. So in actuality, there are (3) variations out in the wild...the latter being the "fake".....even though it sounds pretty good too.
