I really love this tape, every song is a banger. I also can’t help but be very fascinated by the gang element of the LA scene back then. FFF, LMP, LADS, Circle One Family, Suicidals, etc, was all before my time, but it’s very interesting to hear about.

LMP was a sad joke. I grew up in Norwalk during the 80's and La Mirada was an upper middle class city filled with bored white tweaker kids. Sure they were bad ass, just as long as they outnumbered you 10 to 1. I never ran into those guys outside of their own city or surrounding areas like La Habra, and sometimes Buena Park. The only ones listed here that were down for theirs besides the Suicidals was Circle One. Later in the 90's those Unity idiots showed up, touting themselves as an anti racist crew. They'd go jumping and stabbing random people, and as stated before, ran in packs like hyenas attacking people with sheer numbers. Catch one or two alone or in a more fair situation and they fell like a house or cards. The lads were Downey tweakers, barely worth mentioning. I ran into one inside twin towers who ended up being a diaper sniper wearing light blue clothes. Some will know the significance of the light blue getup

Unfortunately there was a lot of this Jock vs. Punk mentality in so many cities back in the 80s and 90s (pfffttt, I’m sure it still goes on today) I was lucky growing up in the particular area I grew up in (Waukegan, Illinois - just north of Chicago), as that kind of shit didn’t happen. Or, if it did, I wasn’t aware of it. Everyone pretty much got along with each other. The only problems between different groups of people were between the different gangs. That shit got pretty bad. Other than that, things were pretty smooth.
