No need to remove the mother plant from water before cutting unless you have to. If the roots dry out, it will die. She’s sealing the end in wax to keep it from growing up and encouraging it to grow a new shoot instead. You can just take it out of the water at the end to seal it rather than the entire time. I learned the hard way, that’s why I’m commenting, not to be a Karen 😅

Had a similar situation with the saddle mounted with the nose pointed slightly downward, on a 15 mile ride I was constantly shifting my rear to the back of the seat. When I got home from my ride I loosened up the 5 mm Allen bolts and adjusted the seat with the nose slightly raised. When I got back on bike I immediately could feel a difference. Tomorrow the real test comes when I group ride 20+ miles. Your review was spot on to what I was experiencing and reinforced what I was initially feeling until I made my adjustment.
