The right hand must play E-flat, not E-natural as here!

I think when there are so many chords, especially massive ones, that it sounds better on the ear to break them.

Vielen Dank! Jeffrey

Magnificent waltz by Eduard Strauss, so charmingly played! Thank you very much for your beautiful piano recording. Perhaps the wonderful melody of section 2A in this early but musically mature Eduard's waltz then inspired Waldteufel for his late op. 234, "Sur la plage" ?

An absolute masterpiece ! The interpretation only by piano makes evident that Eduard Strauss` music is often "classic" in its best sense , and it should be highly considered to create a typica Viennese ballet( Like the DANUBE BLEU ) with music of Eduard Strauss ( "Best of" him ) . The same statement must be made about his genuine brother Josef , too.........
@jcharwag
@jcharwag Ай бұрын
Thank you for listening and sending these insightful comments. There is a ballet, Aschenbroedel, based on the dance music of Johann Strauss, Jr. I agree that Josef and Eduard deserve as much, too! Yours, Jeffrey

@@jcharwag Thank your for your kind reply ! I have to put a lttle correcture on your statement : ASCHENBROEDEL ( = CINDERELLA ) ist an "autonome" ballet and the last composition of J. STR. jun. ( Its only DVD - Recording of the Vienna State Ballet of 2000 with costumes of the grand CHRISTIAN LACROIX ist very recommendable and still on sale . It shows some new , more classic tunes in Strauss` composing ) . Other , post - created Strauss ballets ( GRADUATION BALL , LE DANUBE BLEU ) are arrangements of former dance compositions of Strauss . For an impression of an extraodinary choreography of Strauss` music look to FIGURE SKATING , TOLLER CRANSTON , GRADUATION BALL , 1975 , SKATE CANADA ! ) . At the moment , my friends and I are fighting for an adequate , worthy celebration of the only outstanding Austrian ballet composer , Ludwig Minkus ( 200. anniversary on March 27th , 2026 ) ( DON QUIXOTE , LA BAYADERE ) - forgotten by Austria`s culture politics and policy .............A Viennese street or place with his name would be the most minor honoration he deserved...........

@@rudolfsteinbock2955 Thank you for this informative note. I gladly stand corrected regarding Aschenbroedel. And I further thank you for the information that Minkus, with whom I'm familiar, was Austrian, that I had not known. I am going to take your note as an "omen" to learn more of Minkus. Again, thank you for your informative "Mtteilung"! Sincerely, Jeffrey

@@jcharwag Dear Jeffrey ! The highly informative biography of Minkus at wikipedia.org ( English version ! ) will show you the extreme tragical life of "ONE GREAT AMONG THE GREAT" -today forgottten in his home town . And 80 % of his ballet compositions - particularly the qualitately exclusive later ones - lie asleep in the archives of the MARINSKI THEATRE in St. Petersburg , with no chace for any musician to get the material for revitalizing this beautiful music - highly well critizied at the time of their first performances . Even in harmonic pre - war times the Russian administration refused to allow Viennese ballet experts to make copies of them.............

Hello. I found a recital program dated 3/30/1941 from Budapest that featured a young Nádor György playing the Franck Violin Sonata. I'm trying to find information about him and searching for his name led me to your video. Kurtág would have been in the same circle of friends. Do you know anything about this Nádor György?
