We are newly married couple looking for a traditional old fashioned based church.. Both Baptist and a Reformed Presbyterian background.. I came from a conservative Baptist family and then grew up into a very legalistic reformed theological background.. my husband is very easy going, but loves the Word of God without all the contemporary fluff of most modern day churches such as Elevation. I can barely stomach the entertainment.. tickled ears.. And the popcorn and tshirts being sold in the front ..such disrespect.. no reverence or fear or respect or responsibility Not to mention the scantily clad young girls walking around with very very little clothing.. there’s just a point where you expect your leader- your pastor to say SOMETHING to the parents or the kid.. it’s gotten beyond ridiculous.. Like what ever happened to verses - not causing men to to fall and adorning yourself modestly!!? Some are even married young ladies- where are all the older women talking to them?? Oh they’re scared .. they’re AFRAID .. Whatever. But some Baptist Churches are just too proud and overblown with whatever they’re trying to prove.. We just pray we can find something in the middle - but not at all lukewarm . After growing up in church my entire life and I’ve actually been to black churches and LOVED IT!! Because even though they are extraordinary in their expressing love for Christ I actually enjoyed the message from the pastor- he didn’t fluff it up..what a slippery agenda the entire Christian church abides by now.. I feel we are stuck in an never ending living circle of visiting churches - seeking the Word.. an edifying exponentially heartfelt sermon on the Gospel - This pastor said “ like a good husband you listen to your wife” Oh how far from Gods Truth and expectation can you be? I hate that message.. That woman is in charge.!!?? Really !? it’s so anti biblical! So I’ll say it in layman’s terms.. Grow a pair and PREACH THE TRUTH . Women need REAL MEN in the churches and families today. Not lukewarm effeminate emasculated men. Yuck. We’ll keep searching. Btw- I’m very well versed on all the old Presbyterian reformed theologians and puritans - from 1700-1899!!.. Stand up and preach it..!!! People need it! John Gresham Machem John Knox, Calvin, Phillpot, , And one of my favorites, Charles Spurgeon , and Charles Rushdoony Come on men of God!! Stand up! Speak the truth no matter the consequences. Ugh!! We have way too many men wearing skinny jeans and 5 $1k sneakers and sweatshirts in the pulpit. There’s a lot of us out here waiting.. we’ve made some sacrifices- homeschooling our children for one .. Preach truth and conviction and redemption… the Gospel of Jesus Christ and you won’t have enough seats to seat everyone.. Politically Correct people have their own church man.. And it’s not in the church of Christ - they do not accept Christ ..they REJECT HIM.. I expect one sunday you’ll say God accepts some of the most vile horrific things and we as Christians just need to show love .. NO!! You’re appealing to the masses .. But if not for Gods Grace there go I.. Thank you God for sparing me ignorance.. like a wolf in sheeps clothing - God has shown me the light. I see the teeth. I have compassion.. I have empathy.. But I’m sorry God was speaking of His own . Who’s paying you? After I listened a little longer.. Youve accepted lies as love and give compassion. We are to be the SALT AND LIGHT - of the earth!!!! That rag doll wants to destroy you. Radical inclusivity!!? You accept minor attracted persons.. Omg. You are lost. The Presbyterian church and we all know the Catholic Church is on a hill slide.
