TikTok has changed the internet for the worse, i'm seriously thinking of deleting my Instagram because it is annoying me how much and how often i get stuck on the doomscroll of instagram reels. I hate short-form content so much that I ended up having a spring affect, these days i frequently want videos that are upwards of 1 hour and i'm pretty sure that that's not good for me either.

I have a love hate relationship with short form content because it’s easy to make and gets lots of views and subscribers but also its monopoly on our attention spans cannot be forgiven in my opinion! great video btw (also I love your art style the way you draw eyes is so yummy)

Awesome video and thanks for the shoutout xp this video was really good, and i loveee your art! also, the art fight video should still be up, its one of my more recent ones! :3 on the topic tho: but yeah, the tiktok art community has definitely had a huge impact on the art community, and as someone who gets tagged in so many videos for topics to cover, there are so many nothing-burger 'issues' that turn into ACTUAL issues because of how the community reacts mostly cause that app is swarming with immature teens and just immature people in general. while that doesn't speak for the whole community there, a lot of it *IS* a hellhole from what ive witnessed and its CRAZY. i see so many artists fear things like art regression or just afraid of having their own style because of the standards this app pushes on artists. and a lot of these things can start to sink into other platforms so im glad more people are discussing it. again, great video + new sub :3

im only like 2 weeks into my freshman year but im getting worried that school isnt for me 😢 but it feels even worse bc my job is understaffed so ive been working more than ever and it sucks when most of my classmates dont even have jobs and dont have to worry abt commuting to school. i guess i feel jealous, but in the long run i wont be in as much debt as those not working and living on campus

It's a big relief to hear not everyone likes college. Around me it's always people who have went encouraging you. In career prep we are treated like all of us ARE inevitably going to college. Find the best scholarship! Find your major! And even people who didn't go or dropped out tell me I'm too smart not to go. I'm just glad to hear another take

This was quite valuable to hear. I've been debating going but if the structure is anything like high school was, which is sounds like it was arguably worse, that just tells me I won't have any interest. I've been thinking a trade would be much more up my alley anyways, so thank you for making the choice obvious. School was just a pain and I don't need to do that again.

I’m getting tired of school in general. It definitely makes me feel like a shell of a person. And I’m worried going from a cheap community college for an art major to a cheap 4 year college for some kind of animation degree just won’t be worth it. Like whatever college I end up transferring to it’ll be expensive torture to maybe maybe get into an industry that’s in a rough spot lately yippee

College can be super overwhelming special if you go into it with very little prayer life experience ( me ). Honestly, I can relate to a lot of what you said here, especially the detrimental mental effects of realizing you’re not the best at anything. I’m someone who’s never been good, let alone the best at anything, and I can tell you that thinking about myself like that for years has been eating away at my sanity. You've probably heard this advice before, but I'll give it anyway. College in particular and adulthood in general is a juggling act of dealing with the often unreasonable amount and intensity of things that life throws at you. Some people are seemingly superhuman and can power through all kinds of nonsense that life hurls at them. I'm not one of them and you don't seem to be either. For us it's all about finding ways of making life more bearable what you seem to have started doing by reducing the amount of classes you take per semester, i hope you can find a system that works for you sooner than later, i wish you the best and if i can as you a favor i want you to write down the phrase " No feeling is final ". Write it down on something like a mirror that's always a part of your routine and keep the phrase with you as a mantra. It may not make much sense when you’re feeling good, but whenever life gets tough, it’s important to remember that how you’re feeling at that moment is not how you’re going to be feeling for life, the tough times will pass eventually, even if it takes a long time and holding on to that hope is something that i believe can help.

Honestly I can relate, especially when you take nonsense classes that teach you absolutely nothing related to what your art degree is aimed towards👎
