Funny, the opposite for me. I had bought it originally to control Cubase, and it turned out it doesn't really work well. Then I upgraded to Cubase 12 with MIDI Remote and suddenly I could use it for all the things I had always planned - and I was so close to selling it. :)

Depending on the audio i'm chopping up sometimes is quicker to use serato sample. Maschine has a great built in sampler, but if you are looking for a bit more features, serato is the way to go

Did I heard a “click” on the optimized at 2:35 ? I had issues with loops that has tails and optimizing helps but there’s something that sometimes this functionality is not so precise!…

This click could be because of low buffer settings. I also did not hear it on the actual exported track.

the plastic sterile sound is a mainstream nowadays , no one care about what you taking about , no one care about harmonic distortion or sound dimensions (depth width , stereo imaging). nowadays the big thing is a short hat roll repeats in the whole song (terrrrr tek tek tek) , a lot of affordable plugins , trivial short chords , and that is it ... this is the music nowadays , you have a computer you are musician ! ---- LOOPTROTTER EMPEROR LIMITER / SPL vitalizer / kerwak replica / ssl fusion , can fix the new Akai clean sounding and make it even better than the older units .

Buy a Maschine MK3, it integrates much better with the Maschine software than the S-MK2 does. The S-MK3 can still be used to play instruments in Maschine.

Someone might want a perfect loop based off the selection range, while another person might want to have a tail end on a loop for ending of a song. For example, had this been a song ending, i would want the tail to ring out rather than to be cut off. One might be making loops for dj and need that loop to be exact.

@@FizzENT I'm in ProTools as well. I'm pretty good with understanding the ins and out I'm just not sure how to use the Hardware "Inserts 1 & 2" 1/4" inputs on the back of the Antelope Interface. I bought the breakout cable.

@@joshcobb Oh, The hardware inserts on the orion are interesting because those are automatically connect to A1 & A2 on the front side of the unit. Hopefully you have the Y-Split cable with 1/4' on one side and the corresponding connecters for whatever dynamics processor your are using for the otherside. Once you connect the back, you are good to go. Anything that you plug into A1 & A2 will be inserted before it hits the a/d converters of the orion.

It's a bitcrusher with unique features. As you watch the video, listen to how i use it to shape the sound of the synth. Pretty awesome stuff ! You can use it on all type of audio to shape your sound. It adds a bit grit and really give your tracks a dirty edge.

Believe me! You won't need a touch screen on a midi keyboard since the list of patches are on top of each other with narrow spaces between them and accidental touches hitting the wrong patches will be on the rise. The encoder is enough and faster for patch selection.
