My car has been doing this for 18 months since I got new brakes. I do park outside, but I have been parking my cars outside for many years, and have never heard this noise. No one I know has ever heard this noise on any of their vehicles. It’s so annoying, and the mechanic who replaced the brakes said it’s normal. I spent almost $500 to hear this annoying sound every time I get in my car? I’m so upset about it.

Not totally true... I ran Power Stop products and had horrible mornign issues that were just insane.... swapped to StopTech which is far better quality and problem gone. The Power Stop never stopped as well as my OEM did... the StopTech however stopped really well

Every time i go and have my brakes inspected, mechanics always tell me i have lots of life on my pads left. The squealing sound never went away, til last week i had my brakes lubricated since i was advised to do so after last tire changeover. It rained today and the squealing sound came back.

Ours just started making a goose honking noise when pulling away and now after it sits in the cold, but it never did this before until we had the brakes replaced. So, we are to accept this as being normal?

@@itsmariaaa_ Hi- the dealership could never figure out the problem. These were changed in the winter and the noise seems to not be that much of an issue right now, but I told them we would be bringing it back in if it started again. On a side note, we just replaced the tires and had an alignment done. The car was out of alignment again (on that wheel) a month later so that might be part of the problem. Just waiting to see if the noise comes back again so we can look at it again. Hope this helps.

@@itsmariaaa_ I know- it was driving us crazy too. Hoping it doesn't come back this winter. I think the best way to describe it other than a goose honk (which it sounds like) is maybe a vibration. That is what I kinda got from my dealer anyways.

I have the same issue, but it's not a squeaky sound it's a brutal low pitch grinding noise. Only when pulling out in the morning, only the first 50 ft or so, and only when foot is off the brake. Then it goes away and no noises at all after that.

A friend at work had a stray cat get into the engine compartment. His wife didn't know and started the car to go to work... well, mittens was lying in the wrong spot and he didn't make it. He kinda got mangled in the belt and pulleys. He said it was not easy to clean that up.... Yes. I'm amazed my kids trashing my car hasn't attracted every ant on earth... if you have kids, forget about a nice car for.... 20 years.

I have a 2009 Toyota Yaris 4d sedan that needs new sensors. I can't find the requirements on how to reset or program new sensors. Trying to determine if I need a tool or if there is another way to do it. I'm going to get new tires from Walmart. They charge $30 for each universal sensor. I can order a set of 4 off Amazon for $40. Walmart said I can order my own, but I'm not sure what kind I can order for certain. I just know there are different kinds available, but I don't now the difference and I don't want to order the wrong ones. Hoping someone can help me.

Yes, it has happened to my Honda CR-V. My car was parked outside a parking lot one morning when I started it in reverse and applied the brake; I heard what sounded like a loud noise. I then drove forward for a mile and did the same in reverse before applying the brake; this time there was no noise, but the brake made noise in the morning. when I head out for work every morning. My brakes were checked at the mechanic's, and he said there were no problems; the brake pad and rotors are now in good condition.

I had new front brakes installed (ceramic brake pads + rotors) because the old ones were worn down after 90 miles. However, driving out of the mechanic shop i heard a sort of rubbing or whurring that changes frequency with the speed; namely, the noise goes faster as I pick up speed. The whurrig noise was not there before the new brakes were installed. Anyone have an idea? Thank you for any suggestions on what to check.

@@elliswilliams1050 I took my Honda to 2 expert mechanics who specialize in Hondas and they said it is caused by poor quality brakes. If the auto shop that installed them does not replace with official Honda brake or give me a refund, I have to take them to small claims court for my money back.

Hi 👋. I just fitted new brakes and now my right hand side just squeaks a little. I bedded the brakes in gently with no dead stops. In fact I was bedding these pads in gentler than any other brakes on my previous cars. Could it be because I left my old wear indicators on? Any reply appreciated. Cheers from Australia 🙂

Do you by any any chance know the reset code for a 2014 journey ETC light? I know nothing is wrong and it only happens when we are at the most humid and then rains. I know it is key on, press gas 3 or 5 times quick, wait 10 sec and so on but I’ll be damn if I can find the sequence and the mechanic who help me isn’t not at the shop
