i really feel bad for craig and the band in general. craig is a genius and together with the rest of the group they make amazing music. but after his freakouts people just didn’t seem to care if there was something actually wrong with him. critics and magazines passed off The Vines as a dead band and its a damn shame. i hope they aren’t forgotten in 10 years.
@user-bj2lu9qt3o3 жыл бұрын
I totally agree. Though I don't think they need great success, just their stable fan base and I guess that's enough and best for Craig as well. Some critics back then were brutal even though it was visible that he was struggling with something... even the rolling stone article during the height of their carreer wasn't fair, claimed he wanted to be the next Cobain, which he vehemently refused in another interview. Don't think they'll ever be completely forgotten though because "Get free" is a strong, iconic song that (unfortunately) fits very well with commercial stuff.

@doves9204 the last three albums future primitive wicked nature and in miracle land showed me that craigs song writing was generally formulaic but still tasteful the songs your referencing the psyc stuff are great truly his rocker side seems to be every third song on those albums he always comes up with something brilliant every 2nd or third song across all three albums is a good one

Underrated band with such potential to be great. I wonder what Craig and his former band mates are doing nowadays. Craig is in his early 40’s now! Where has the time gone? Great song by the band as a whole!

its true thats why people think he sings like shit but he really is a very good singer it was just that he didnt want to do it, but the vines are still one of my fav bands of all the time for me they are legends

No, it's a shame to call him a crazed muppet. It's exactly what makes them so exceptional to me: I cannot come up with another singer who acts as authentic as him.
