@@stevenhickenjr I found out about the Ezzee-Slide bar when visiting the Emmons Guitar Company, and because of cerebral palsy in my left hand, I was trying to find something that would work for me, so after trying out the Ezzee-Slide bar, I decided it is my favorite bar to use on steel and works really well for me! I'm happy to say it's now my main pedal steel bar!

Steven Hicken Jr Pedal Steel Guitar This comes with thicker strings meant for D9 Tuning (a step below E9) so to switch to E9, you'd need to switch to thinner strings like Regular Light Gauge NYXL1138PS Strings

Steven Hicken Jr Pedal Steel Guitar You can actually tune this instrument to E9 by switching over to Regular E9 Pedal Steel Strings like NYXL1138PS.
@stevenhickenjr10 ай бұрын
E9 gauges put too much stress on the cone. It is doable but Jimmy Hudson confirmed that the cone would wear and break very quickly. It also sounds thinner so less like a dobro.
@RockStarOscarStern63410 ай бұрын
@@stevenhickenjr If the strings are thinner then how much more tension would they put on the cone if tuned to E9 like it says on the string package?
@RockStarOscarStern63410 ай бұрын
@@stevenhickenjr If the E9 strings for Pedal Steel tuned up to E9 are a little thinner than the D9 Strings tuned to D9, then maybe you'll get the same amount of tension perhaps a little less. I think the body would have to be a little Smaller to make it respond better.

Steven Hicken Jr Pedal Steel Guitar It's a Pedal Steel Resonator Guitar. You could (I think it's worth giving a strum) using both the Piezo & Magnetic Pickups to get a unique sound that's a blend between a Pedal Steel Guitar & a Dobro, hence the name Pedabro.

These 3 gigs definitely had the most energy I've ever experienced. This one (Holmfirth Picturedrome) was great but the Saturday night in Liverpool was mental! More time for people to drink I suppose. Unfortunately I couldn't really use the pedal steel cam for that gig as the stage steel wasn't really heard as we were using in ears. Plenty of steel out front though! I'll always be haunted by "Before He Cheats". It was on the PA at Liverpool as we were walking out. First time I've ever experienced an audience singing on a walk out...let alone 700+ of them. They were loud as hell backstage too 😂.

@@stevenhickenjr my biggest concert ever was just under 1500 people. I was on drums that day. I had just bought my ticket (as a spectator) and walked through the front door, when security rushed me by the arm to the back stage. The M.C. had spotted me walking in, and wanted to know if I could run home and get my drums. I had just finished playing an afternoon gig before coming to the concert, so I told him my kit was in the car. He said they had 3 bands who had three no-show drummers. He said watch the bass player for my cues, and I'll be fine.

The Magnetic Pickup on the Pedabro sounds a bit like the Iconic Pedal Steel Guitar but more like a Hollow Body Version & it combines well w/ the Dobro sounds from the Piezo Pickup. It can produce both Pedal Steel & Dobro sounds hence the name Pedabro.

Steven Hicken Jr Pedal Steel Guitar It's not just any Pedal Steel Guitar, it's an Acoustic-Electric Pedal Steel Resonator Guitar aka Pedabro.
