The death scene with Alice has stayed with me since I was a teenager, from the very first time I saw this movie in high school, when my history teacher wheeled in the CRT TV and VHS player on the cart for us to watch this movie in class. That actress says so much in her expression with out saying a word, coupled with the muted rhythmic beat, I still get goosebumps watching that part, every time.

As a boy from a third world, I first watched this movie around 1999. My hometown never had TVs at that time, the whole town had about 3-5 tvs. This movie reminds me of my late dad, it just brings back so much memories of my childhood! ❤😢

This clip does not have the magnificent end scene with Chinhachgook, Hawkeye and Cora on the moutaintop. One of the most memorable scenes ever! "Once we were here." Not in the Director's Cut so skip that version. Actually shot in Western North Carolina's Blue Ridge Mountains.

Every time I watch this ending, I get goosebumps from the amount of emotions that happen one after another: fury, rage, loyalty, love, pain, dedication, courage, bravery, determination, compassion and sacrifice. All in a wild and hostile natural environment. Great movie without a doubt.
