I get confused. There are many HEX V2 VCDS 24.7 adapters on aliexpress. When you read their description, they all say they work only until 2017 cars. And for >2017 they recommend buying a real HEX V2... And I have a 2021 car. What am I supposed to do now? I don't want to get the genuine HEX V2 because it's a ripoff. The amount of money they ask for a damn cable is absurd.

Please check the cables carefully; they might be connected the wrong way around. This could cause the short circuit issue after replacing the water pump.
