The useful life of a firehouse as with most commercial structures is 75 years . I know they look like houses but they are purpose built commercial , probably got more economic life remaing than what will be replacing it , if thompson originally was the builder . Aluminum studs doint mean shit. The only two ways that remaining economic life could be figured as zero , when No 1 was constructed in 1972, is if someone is using the residential useful life 0f 50 to 55 years and the firehouse has received zero maintenance and upkeep since new. Check the yearly budgets from 1973 to date and i bet money had been allocated for maintenance and upkeep. The second way the REL could figure as zero is if your replacement cost numbers were exaggerated . ITs embarrassing to have so many officials that are clueless .
