It looks like the majority of the knit project is crocheted. I think it would be easier to just crochet the tube to start with.
@creative_needle5 күн бұрын
Crocheting and knitting produce different textures. You can crochet waistcoat stitch in the round to look like knitted material. I have a tutorial on waistcoat stitch kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4eqg36YlKqjjtU Knitted material is much softer than crocheted material So it depends on the type of material you like when choosing the method.

It doesn't show how you got them on the needle to start your cable. I am confused as to how the horizontal dropped stitches are cast on the needle to start the cablr
@creative_needle21 күн бұрын
There are loops for each stitch from the stitches that you dropped off. You can just slip the loops on to your left knitting needle (if you are right handed) and start your cable.. Pls let me know if you have more questions. I'll be glad to help

This makes no sense
@drumroady120 күн бұрын
It makes perfect sense. I'm new to knitting machines but not hand knitting. If I drop a stitch in hand knitting, I use a crochet hook to rework the ladder of dropped stitches. That's exactly what she's doing here. 🤷🏻♀️

Neat workaround but it isn’t “knitting in the round.”
@drumroady120 күн бұрын
Sure does look like it when it's finished! 😉 I knit but I have looms and an Addi King. Knitting is knitting. Having fun and ending up with something nice that you made is the point. 👍🏻

I am in awe. Just speechless. WOW! This could be a way to tighten up for ribbing on a sweater or gloves. I have always wondered. I knit regularly. When knitting a sweater there are fewer stitches than the main body of the sweater. Thank you

Glad I can help. I also have a video on how to join sides of panels seamlessly (josephine graft method) without bulky seams. This may be useful for knitting sweaters and other panel items. Please subscribe to my channel if you like my videos. Thanks

❤ Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial I've been wanting to do this I don't know exactly how. I noticed that some people use bobbins. have you ever tried that?
@creative_needle Жыл бұрын
I haven't tried bobbins but I think it will be useful for the color changes if you can wind small amounts of different colors on a bobbin

Amazing video ❤ may I ask would this pattern work if made like hats? Not a flat Panel? Hope this makes sense 😊
@creative_needle Жыл бұрын
Intarsia knitting is better done on a flat panel. If you knit in the round the end of the yarn for the next color change is in the wrong place when you come around to the next row.

It is faster than hand knitting if you are knitting say 30 stitch wide tube. Also some people can crochet but do not hand knit. They can use the machine to help them knit.
