i have to take one of these soon from philly to NY. i am diagnosed with GAD and agoraphobia and i am on disabilities for it. can i request to be seated away from people or something? i was sexually assaulted in public before so i am not very good in these out side settings

Very informative video!! Planning on visiting NYC eventually! Though I have a question, how does the luggage fit within the train? Must I check those in separately, or is it like an airplane than you can squeeze them in above the seats?

I don’t remember about the overhead racks to be honest, but I’m sure there are luggage racks at the front of every carriage. No need to check them in. You just place your bags there when boarding and then pick them up when it’s time to get off.

Do you know how to go thru the entrance gate with children? I know that children under 12 travel for free but is it so that after scanning ticket I go with the child thru the gate?

You can ask the employees when you purchase the tickets so that they can give you a ticket for the children. In any case, there are staff members at the gates that can let you through.

The ticket is about €10, you can check in the Trenitalia website. Depending on the train you take, it is between 1 hour and 1 hour and a half to Pisa from Florence.

Yes there is a special events train from South Station. There's also the Franklin/Foxboro line that has regular service but more stops.

Great video! I love it! Guess what? There’s no Cafe car on the Keystone Service it’s all Coach! But the only trains on Amtrak that have Cafe Cars is the Acela, Northeast Regional, Crescent, Cardinal, Silver Star, Silver Meteor, and I think the Capitol Limited as well too.

Do you know if you can purchase train tickets for other routes in this station? For instance, can I pay for a ticket from Rome to Naples and hold on to it and use it on a specific day? Or do I need to purchase it the day I travel when I get to Rome?

I mentioned it during the video; the ticket was €43. As far as I'm concerned, Trieste does not have high-speed train services, at least by Italo or Frecciarossa.

Italo does not only operate the AVG. That train you went on doesn't appear to be one, but one of their ETR 675s.

You are right! I didn’t know about their ETR 675s, but this was one of them indeed. I also had a trip on one of their AGVs though, so stay tuned for that one!

The ETRs are newer I believe, so the interiors are nicer and more spacious. However the AGV was quicker which was cool.

Hey! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and found it useful. There are stops between Boston and NY, but you can’t really get off the train. I mean, you have a ticket with an origin and a destination, and you must respect that. In addition, the train only stops for 1 or 2 minutes. If you want to explore any of the cities in between, I assume the way to do that is by getting separate tickets. However, I’m sure you can contact Amtrak and they will be able to assist you better than me!

4:15 - You say that "not all service branches have the exact same route" on the NE Corridor. I beg to differ. I've been riding this route for 20+ years, and it's always followed the same rails, with the same stops between Boston and New York.

When going from NYC to Boston, sit on the right side of the train (facing the front) for the ocean views. Also, if anyone wonders why the New Haven stop has such a large train yard, until around 1996 this was the end of the electrified part of the trip, and the locomotive had to be uncoupled and replaced by a diesel.

Buy the tickets online. The train to Maine is called the Downeaster. Note, though, that it leaves from Boston's NORTH Station, while trains headed south, like the one in this video, leave from South Station.
