Do you ever consider that you’re not being jumped on for “not being sensitive enough” and instead just might be wrong? For free thinkers y’all are pretty narrow minded. Good grief.
@MoesWargames6 күн бұрын
Not sensitive enough? Shall we circle around the campfire and sing songs? Discussion of facts have nothing to do with feelings, unless you are sensitive to the truth. And people who want others to be sensitive to their feelings should first exude a similar sensitivity if they wish to receive it in return.

Great show, guys! The creepy and ignorant in our hobby just can't help themselves, can they. Constantly with the virtue signaling and the "I'm better than you" crap. Kev's example of the crocheting channel being invaded by knitting people is funny and spot on. The Roman example is perfect too - I like to use the fact that Eurogamers and the same people who bitch about wargames happily play as Vikings and pirates, apparently having absolutely no clue as to how those two historical groups conducted their business. Making wargames more accessible is not the same as forcing them to be politically correct or to ignore history. Keep fighting the good fight for wargamers and our niche of the boardgaming hobby.

Yea, the activism in gaming is so stale at this point and since that schtick has already been mastered in the hobby gaming space by others these folks are looking for somewhere to spread their own version of the same schtick and the wargame community is the place they're attempting it because it's a laid back group. These are fringe eurogamers who play some strategy games with historical themes and then think they're wargamers, and all of a sudden are in a place of authority to where they feel they can dictate how the community acts and what they play. However, I find it very curious that you never see them active in any actual wargame discussions outside of their little echo chambers, nor do they bring anything of value to the wargame community. Very few, if any of these people are even known in the wargame space except in maybe some small area that dabbles with their fringe. If they wanted to effect any change the smarter move would be to first become a productive member of the community before attempting to dictate any changes. Especially when they continually show ignorance to history in favor of activism, i.e. the fauxrage over Confederate "slavers", yet "let's play Romans!", always cracks me up. They find offense everywhere, and if there's any pushback they then change their approach to the topic and try to position themselves as the virtuous truth holders while at the same time playing the perpetual victim card. It must be very tiring seeking out offense everywhere, but this is the new generation who wasn't brought up to dust themselves off when they get knocked down and to get back up. So, it's to be expected that they'll get booboo's everywhere. I am curious as to why they claim to be interested in wargames (state sanctioned murder), as the intent of every move on the battlefield is to push back and kill the enemy to take ground and other necessary objectives. If they find these topics so inappropriate and too sensitive, then why venture into historical gaming since history is so incredibly violent? I think they may want to consider that before trying to dictate to a long established group how they need to change to suit the feelings of a new and apparently needy group of folks.

Nothing wrong with complaining about the delays and being disappointed about said delays, I agree with that sentiment, but there's no cause for personal attacks, wrongful allegations, doxxing, and attacking families. We're better than that and we need to hold those people to account by calling out that level of bad behavior. I agree 100% with you, it's appalling. This shows how playing this game/simulation requires study. The videos alone are several hours total. These videos are state of the art and are excellent
@MoesWargamesАй бұрын
You're correct. Wargames that are complex as this one is will definitely take time and effort to not only learn how to play, but to play well. It's not a terribly difficult game to learn but it's got a lot of layers, which is where the complexity comes in. Keeping in mind the many different facets and then working through them to tackle the problems you'll find across the map is where one can really spend a lot of time mulling over your options. This is the type of game that warrants its own notebook I think. Keeping notes and ideas about your gameplay experiences along with ideas to try in situation in the future. Since we can't have staffs to remind us of these things we've got to keep notes! :)

I had no intention of buying this, but the "guiding hand" of going through the rules in such detail makes it all _much_ more approachable. This is a _really_ good style of video. Rich Hoffman , your step by step clear examples are golden sir! BTW Video Annotation Errata: At 47:47 Engineer Regiments can only blow *_two_* bridges per turn, not three. *Question:* At 58:43 Rich says that the motorised infantry unit can move into the Rough hex with a movement cost of two. The mouse movement on screen seems to have him referencing Non-motorised Rough terrain on the chart (movement cost of 2) but shouldn't it be Motorised Trail for a movement cost of 1? (I think this is all based on Firm ground)

Must agree. Seems like an enormous amount of things to check off (looking down the Combat Modifiers Chart) to resolve each Combat. I'm sure that during play it will be very interesting to overlook a modifier until your opponent reminds you of it. Still preordered it, and can't wait to get it. Danny S. Parker is the ultimate Bulge authority, so I'm sure all this stuff wasn't just shoved into the game for laughs. That being said, I'm certain that I'll be restricting myself to the (hopefully available) smaller scenarios.
