When they appeared in this episode Chad Michael Murray was 20 and Hilarie Burton was 19 and Hilarie had been discovered by the network when she was doing her work on TRL that the people who had worked on the network met her when she had auditioned for a movie that she didn't get the role for, but they liked her attitude that they decided to give her the role of Peyton Sawyer and the Creator said that he couldn't understand why people didn't like her because she was just like any other teenager who makes mistakes but the audience didn't understand how she was into rock music, a cheerleader, an artist, and that they couldn't understand how she could be so miserable when it looked like she had a good life so then they decided to have her interact with Lucas and then for the second season they had her focus on her love of music and it was originally supposed to be a movie called Ravens but the people at the network told the Creator to change the name because it sounded to sports-centric and so the creator came up with the name Tree Hill when he heard the song from a U2 album and it had a different storyline but when The O.C. came out the people that were in charge of OTH decided to sex everything up since they were competing with that other show at the time and OTH wasn't getting good rating's until the second week and Chad said that he was afraid that they were going to get cancelled after the first season because the rating's weren't high and the Creator didn't know what else to write about so the Creator got some ideas from his own personal life like the character Keith and Peyton is based on the Creator's brother and ex-girlfriend from high school whose name was Peyton Sawyer and that she is very similar to the character on the show and the Creator also got the idea of the affairs from his own personal experience.

I just saw this scene as I’m rewatching Dawson’s Creek for the first time since I was a kid and when I tell you I was mind blown! This was when she was still working for MTV, I wonder how shortly afterwards did they start filming because OTH started in 2003 and Dawson’s ended in 2003 and they both filmed in Wilmington, NC.

Yes, we can't really know. For the record, he hasn't cheated on Kenzie yet, and they are together for a very long time now ... just because he cheated once doesn't mean he always cheats. He made a mistake .. it happens.

My point exactly. If the only thing that changes is that Chad Michael Murray hooks up with Hilarie Burton and not Sophia Bush, then Chad Michael Murray likely still cheats. PS: Maybe Lucas and Brooke are endgame as CMM and HB would have the beef instead of CMM and SB.
