The ocean is beautiful but bipolar. U never know when its going to erupt. Its unpredictable. Its a madman. It has no conscience.

I did not get the point of this video. Why you never turn your back on the Ocean? No one was at any time overcome by a wave or in distress. This was a fun day and everyone was safe. There are just people who are fundamentally fearful of the ocean.

Except for maybe getting knocked in the head by a log if you were in the water & didn't see it, I don't see the danger or problem here. Increasing wave action looks like it _might_ mean those on the sand bar may have to swim across now. But they might also have an escape right or left, where they could still walk back. I'm lost. Disappointed.

This looks like Goat Rock on the Sonoma Coast, where the Russian River empties. I experienced this exact phenomenon there and we know better than to turn our backs on that surf. When you are well above the surf line on the jetty, you wouldn't think this can happen but here you go...

Some safety points to consider. 1. Take note of tidal times, rate of rise and fall and by how much. 2. Sand banks are notorious for causing riptides. 3. Always keep an eye out for the direction of the tide. 4. Every 6th wave is a biggie. 5. Always let someone know where you are and for how long. 6. Always keep your mobile charged and handy in a water proof case.

Nothing about this looks safe

If you can't handle the ocean stay away from it. Otherwise that surf was no big deal for anyone that grew up playing in the ocean.

The Texas coast has 750 foot tides. This is nothing.

All I can say is it’s a good job I wasn’t there because that man would’ve ended up in hospital after treating that poor dog like that you can quite clearly see the dog is trying to get away.

I had to stop watching I fear the dog could have been swept out to sea.😮 Im sorry he should have not been that close. IMO
