No wonder this showed bombed. What an awful premise. Every single character (except the dog) is utterly hateable. It has a mean-spirited vibe, as if it's both revelling in dog torture and mocking average American families.

I always point to this show when people ask me about music direction. Every note and sound compliment every frame of animation.

At least the animation was incredible for a tv series.

People watching this today, most likely wondering why the robbers only stole junk. When Family Dog originally aired, it was in the 1980s, not 1993 when the family dog series came out. Back then, people didn't own expensive electronics like we have today, so when a house was robbed, it happened with fake movers who would clean out an entire house, making neighbors think fellow neighbors were moving. Furniture stolen would be cleaned up and sold in other states. If you ever saw a truck in a parking lot or off highway, selling brand new furniture sets at cheap prices, those were actually stolen from homes and sold in other states. When this episode aired, this was happening so much, they made PSAs using Seargent Mcgruff, to teach children and families what to watch out for. Now a days furniture gets ignored and they just steal jewelry and electronics. Back in the days, the entire home got taken.
