Big fan of this one. It's great for portability when hiking. This and the Rapidclear which you can use for camp to filter larger amounts of water, a great pear. They are essentially lighter and more portable version of the Grayl water filter, which I wish they would do more portable and lighter options like these. Sawyer Squeeze doesn't filter viruses. The Pure Clear does. Pure Clear is also more durable than the Katadyn. No contest imo

I was told it was a slow filter but watching it fill that bowl really reinforced how slow it is. Not that you're usually in that much of a rush once camp's set up.

I think you should have tasted the water from the Sawyer mini. It's possible the colour doesn't affect the taste. Having said that, I still think I'd prefer the Pure Clear (not Pure Clean by the way) as it's more compact and easier to carry.

Hey I just got the same kayak as you. Did you have problems sliding the fins in? One of mine will not slide in, it's too tight. If you had the same problem, did you find a way to slide it to the slot?

your air intake is inside and will get stale and wont cool as much, you need to fit the 2nd vent to pull air from outside as well as vent hot air outside from 2nd vent

In the desert, the humidity is sucked away, perhaps even with a strong draught, but otherwise it becomes oppressively humid and worse than before. You can easily try it out: Point the fan at a wet cloth - at first it works great - but later you notice the humidity.

This is called a "swamp cooler" or an "evaporative cooler" it works great if the area is extremely dry. If there is humidity it will only make things worse
