If the ring is too small for your split ring plier to go through, you can just cramp the whole ring. (i.e. grip from outside of the ring)

I've caught several large mouth and pickerel on that lure. It's basically just a small shallow diving crank bait.

You literally used split ring pliers to get the hook back on lol

The problem with changing hooks is that they don't want you to be able to change the hook without the pliers. So what they do is that they put in a split ring that is like really tough to split. I tried to get the hooks out and I took the first lure and I struggled for a bit but after a minute I got it and I managed to get the hooks out. And since it was easy to get them out I pulled the hooks out of the split ring with no hesitation thinking that I will be able to put them back if I needed to. Then I took a Savage Gear lure and the split rings that they have on their lures is just impossible to split to get the hook out without the pliers. I tried other woblers but still I just wasn't able to get the hooks out so after that I just throwed the lures back into the box and I thought that I will get the hooks back on the first lure but suprisingly it is way harder to get the hooks back than getting the hooks out. So now I have a lure that has no hooks on it and I have no idea how do I get the hooks back. I wanted to change the treble hooks for single hooks because the single hooks don't hurt the fish as much as the treble hooks. I didn't want to do it but it looks like I will get the split pliers anyway. After all I guess it is better that I know I won't be able to do it without the pliers and I the next time I will order something I will get the hooks with the split pliers and I won't have to pay the shipping twice.

This is genius. I have been struggling with tiny split rings for months. This works.

That's a jerk bait and u can tear up largemouth on them, they are deadly when the conditions are right and you know how to work one

*just went fishing in cabo for 4 days and pliers worked great>>>**allabout.wiki/rduh** and held up well over all 4 days. great value, would highly recommend. I also have a pair of slightly larger pliers which you will need if you are removing larger split rings.*

Thanks for sharing this! I meant to buy jump rings for jewelry making, but got split rings by accident. I don't have split ring pliers. I've tried to open the rings with my thumb nails, paper clips, safety pins & small pliers, but I keep bending the split ring out of shape! Hopefully your screw driver idea keeps it from bending out of shape. I plan on using a mini screw driver. It's tiny so hopefully it's perfect lol. Thanks again!

Thanks for the video. BTW the hooks on Rapala Shadow Rap and Shadow Rap Deep definitely need replacing. Never seen so fragile hooks...
