Outstanding performance and the ORGAN is something to see and behold. A must-visit the church is necessary and then see the huge console.

This piece was the first piece I heard rehearsed by The Choir of St. James Cathedral when I was shadowing Robert and learning my new role as Music Department Assistant at St. James in September 2017. At that time I was sitting in the middle of the divided choir. It was one of the most powerful and memorable experiences of my life.

The mouths of the musicians utter beauty and their tongues sing what is lovely.

Good to hear it. It is indeed not often done. It was written by Childs as a memorial for the end of the Prayer Book at the English Interregnum in 1645. Deliberately written in an archaic style in the mode of a memorial. Contrast it with his setting at the Restoration of Praise Ye the Lord, Laud Ye the Name of the Lord (Archbishop Laud had been executed in Jan 1645 hence the pun, once supposes). An important psalm setting in the life of the Book of Common Prayer. Thank you so much.

From your friends and fellow choristers at St. Andrews Episcopal, Denver. Full choir (sans me!) sang this as the introit at my wedding last Saturday

A lovely rendition, beautifully nuanced, phrased, and timed... recorded live in church complete with some baby-squeaking !! This work was sung for years at every spring concert by my high school choir (Lawrence Park); memories of sitting still nearby in the orchestra, quietly holding our instruments, waiting our turn, hearing this lovely, lovely, moving thing. Deep powerful memories of being young and discovering the universe of music.
