What a superb catch! I love the suspense of steam at night. You hear the exhaust beat long before you see the train and the platform canopy lighting glinting off the shiny details of the loco and it’s consist make for a really special sight. How I wish I was around when steam was all we had! It really is magical. Thanks for sharing this video with us all, i thoroughly enjoyed viewing it.

Time seems to stand still in New Holland, It's like a village from the twilight zone, I lived there once and used to use the old trains in the 1970s. My mam wasn't happy living there but I was a child so only have magical memories as we never grasp the real grim reality and live in a playful world. I think the house we lived in at Regent Terrace was haunted.

Interesting .The idea of bad vibes attaching to a name is there in the maritime world. There used to be a reluctance to change the name of a ship and some names were considered unlucky.

I can remember sitting on the platform at Darlington and these Deltics would come in and the heat and power coming from them was amazing! As a kid it was sort of frightening but thrilling at the same time!!
