I am on the fence on upgrading to a 6065 due to the visibility out the right side. I have a Kuhn 6 foot drum hay cutter that I am worried I won’t be able to see. I sat in a 6065 when the dealer was closed so I don’t know if the seat was air ride and could be lifted up or not. I like the beefiness of the front end because I have a hay bale grapple. Can you tell me what kind of hay cutter you use with it and do you have visibility issues seeing the cutter? Thanks!

You need less but more aggressive spikes rather than more short spikes. I can turn a log much faster than this with a cant hook.
@4gfarm11 ай бұрын
You’re absolute correct. I have since changed them. I traced my cant hook and cut out two shorter versions of them and they work perfectly. I would love to race you turning a 16 foot 26 inch diameter log. Just kidding on small logs it is much faster with a cant hook but I cut a lot of large stuff.
@ericaman539311 ай бұрын
@@4gfarm Yeah, a 16' 26in log is a bugger to turn by ones self. Thats where 1/2 log tong, 8' of chain and a high lift jack work well. I still wish WM had a log turner option. Id be curious to see the new version you built. It's a good idea.

@4gfarm2 жыл бұрын
I just do the deepest part up next to the base of the tooth. Seems to me that’s where the cracks usually form. I only do two or so sharpenings because I don’t have a tooth setter so I’m happy with the results I’ve been getting.

@OregonOldTimer2 жыл бұрын
Speed improvement aside, even when I slowed the video down to .25, it appears the stone lifts out of the grind before it touches the gullet at all. Do you do this intentionally? If so, why? Most common complaint on these sharpeners I've seen is, the stone doesn't stay in the gullet long enough to stroke the backside of the next tooth.
@4gfarm2 жыл бұрын
I don’t worry about sweeping the whole gullet. Seems to cut just as good as new if not better like this. The cracks are generally going to be close to the base of the tooth anyway so as long as I hit a little bit of it I’m good with it. I don’t have a tooth setter so I usually on sharpen 2 or 3 times anyway then discard the blade.

I like the setup, and you installed everything really well. Kudos! Good video too! I do notice that where your hookup for attachments is located, it sticks up quite a bit. Are you afraid that when using the grapple, an errant limb or something may engage that and break your hydraulic connectors off, or where your hose is connected to them? My Mahindra 6075 doesn't have 3rd function yet, but my CTL, a NH C245, has had several branches break hoses at the connection. Seems to be a by-product of using grapples or pullers in brush.
