I got an idea, variable pressure exhaust. It either expands or becomes longer based on what pressure waves it needs to be perfectly in tune.

LOVE IT! Never heard of this channel before, but KZbin just decided to show it me, and it's fucking ace lol. Love the fact that you not only test stuff, but fuck loads of stuff up and show it doesn't work. Love even more you show that internet theory and reality is VERY different, as I always say that, and you shown that constantly in this video alone. Really fucking funny too, not sure if half of what I found funny was even meant to be, but it was lol. I'm not sure if you've ever seen the 80s UK comedy Allo Allo, but you could defo be one of the Gestapo officers in that. Keep up the good work!

27.05. - Update: If you want to find out what was really missing to get that high pitched "F1" exhaust sound or just want to see some rather surprising 12-into-1 horsepower numbers - consider to to support www.maisteers-exhaust-sound-resear.ch - it would also help to make the next video better too. Thank you.

Holy shit, I had no idea the engineering that went into cars was this deep... let alone just the exhaust. Has me rethinking all the modifications I made on my lowly Focus ST I owned for 10 years, lol.

What’s up with all the negative comments? This dude is out here publishing his research and development, openly admitting he does not know everything, and you all keep ripping apart his accent and editing. How many of you speak more than one language and have a KZbin channel?

hm, its posible to make Formula sound (14k rpm) from car at 6-7k rpm ?
@maisteer13 күн бұрын
This is an old F1 V12 from '89 at low rpm - kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGHan3ivn9x2r8Usi=5orUkJMRw8L3de9x&t=368 It still sounds bonkers. The rpm are only part of it. The secret to that musical sound is in the header design. How can the Zonda and that Mustang with the 8-into-1 header sound so extreme - even at 3000rpm? That's what I've been trying to figure out.

I second the Matra 3 liter prototype racing engine. I have never heard this car live, but the recordings sound great. The Ferrari 312pb also sounds great but is not a V12 (flat 12). I did hear that one in person, Watkins Glen 1972. The best sounding car I've ever heard in person, by far.

@maisteer18 күн бұрын
No need to register. It will ask for for a Name (which you can leave blank) and an e-mail adress (which you can make up - but then I can't send you updates on the progress). The only thing you need is a credit card. Ahh, and you are not allowed to be russian. The providers of the service automatically assume you are evil then (I think).

There is a program called GT Power by gamma technologies that you can model engines and exhaust for sound, flow, backpressure, horsepower, torque etc. That is how OEMs design intake/exhaust systems. Everything about an engine affects the end sound. I used it a bit in college when I was working on the 2014 Corvette/Viper in exhaust valves (like cut outs to make flow go from regular muffler to straight through).
@shotgun_chef326519 күн бұрын
Basically all exhaust sound can be modeled like speaker boxes. Also, Long tubes with constant diameter produce effects of standing waves that cause drones as specific engine RPMs and some cancelation due to the backwave.

A friend of the family worked as dyno tech for a F1 team back in the 1980’s and he said that he spent thousands of hours dyno testing exhaust systems to find the design that produced the best dyno numbers that would fit in the engine bay.

Inconel isn’t made from titanium, it is a nickel-chromium superalloy. At most, there will only 2-3% titanium by mass. Inconel is a good material to make exhausts out of since superalloys were designed to maintain mechanical strength at very high temperatures.
