Very cute MJ in the suit cover. Hey, grody comics need homes too, yeah? Dazzler/Rogue/Longshot and Psylocke, if I recall. The New Team cover was when they split the X-Men to the Gold and Blue teams. Had to be done, so many merry mutants. Ha ha I THINK that Gambit cover was when they finally dove into a bit of the past he had with Sabretooth. Years before, the baddie made a comment suggesting he knew Gambit and I remember waiting forever to finally learn more.

Okay, this is awesome! Collecting Marvel, specifically X-Men cards, is exactly how I got into the comics, so having a collection like this, versus tracking down the cards themselves (per your point of their pricing these days) is a sweet idea and makes for a great collection and coffee table piece.

Spidey dodgeball, ha ha ha That cutesy Spider-Punk cover is pretty great. Some nice classic finds there with Spidey books, nice to see. Love seeing when trading cards are still packed in; even better that a book has never been opened. Dude, that Storm in the rain cover is classic; so, so epic and gorgeous. There really is something neat about the Scarlet Spider-Man outfit; Lady Laci has picked up a few books and even some toys just because of it.

Nice review; have not read this but I do enjoy a good horror comic, so I appreciate the heads up on this one.

Great find on that X-Men book; always dug that cover with Cap, Cyke, Rogue, and SW. X-Cutioner's Song was the first crossover event I went all in on collecting back in yonder days. Nice on another Wizard, they really did have some cool bits in them; I used to love their casting calls they'd do for comic movies.

Excellent time to be picking up some Aliens goodness--nice price too. Wooo, Age of Apocalypse! I really enjoyed that storyline back in the day; such an X-Men fan and it was so different for its time. Lady Laci loved the Spider-Verse event; dunno if she scored all the tales but there were loads of characters she enjoyed from it. So many great holo-foil covers here, YES! Oooh, and the cut-out with FF; love the quirky fun stuff comics did back in the day. Those card bit covers, I remember those; used to make me want them AS actual cards. That X-Men cover with Jean facing off against Sabretooth is epic; the sense of power in it is so well done.

It IS about time--you make me "have" to go find books sometimes. lol Our pal Bandana Gamer collects 2099 stuff so I usually keep an eye out for him. I can keep watch for you as well if you're wanting beyond the first issues. I remember Wizard magazines, man, some where really great; I used to love the casting calls they'd do for superhero movies and am so happy they actually made Patrick Stewart Professor X. Wow, that Saga book is insane, BUT, that's a great way to go vs. single issues, am I right?

I didn’t like the meta jokes that much either. Felt lazy and took me out of the story to many times. I did overall enjoy the book but it was like listening to a story from a person who has adhd. I think the writer had an idea for maybe the first two volumes but after that just wanted to try things out without really thinking about how they would play out later down the line.

Sorry to hear that man. I know it can be iffy with specialty comic shops and being left with overstock, but yeah, one book? Come on, that's a bit nuts. I had to curate them, which was great fun. Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for sharing. I've seen a lot of review of the book and this is my fave. Love your enthusiasm. I intentionally made these titles and descriptions (and artwork!) enough to spark your interest. All best.

We often think of trying to scale down single issues in place of omnibus books. Someday... I'm not familiar with MMPR, but these figures are pretty cool. And of course, we dig our Marvel!

I was really hoping for a Micheal Myers crossover. I remember in one of the comics, Hack actually references a slasher that sounds like it would be Myers

Man, sorry to hear about so many changes and issues happening all at once, but often, it's times like these that take us on exciting journeys. We absolutely feel for you on the space single issues take up vs. Omnibuses; we've leaned a lot into the latter too, especially with newer releases and collections. I know this is such a cop out answer, but I think it really is a symbiotic relationship. Its 100% thw art that draws me in, but the story has me buy the next and next issue. The burger smell brings me into McDonalds, but oh man, it's those fries that fill me up.

There really are two kinds of collectors: those that want the cleanest, most pristine version of something. And then the second kind are the “out of box” collectors, that don’t care about the condition, it’s just another tick on the list. Neither are right. But I will tell you this: the industry is not right. The whole CGC model needs to change. I am one of those pristine collectors. But I choose never to send any books. Why? Because it requires me shipping them off and parting with them. It’s very un-Collector like.

Ha ha, nah, not crazy, I liked this rant. I'm in the same boat; I don't care how people want to collect and I won't shame them for it, but I never understood the point of getting things graded and slabbed. That said, I don't care about value of things and it's sad that the greed has infected so many collection venues from games and comics to toys and on. People only want money and they only want some arbitrary person/business/company to "assure" them that what they have is valuable which, in turn for them, means THEY are valuable. It's sad to me and it ruins the hobby for collectors who want to enjoy it as it is--a hobby and not an investment. That being said, I consistently tell Lady Laci when I gone to sell my junk as fast as she can and use that money to live it up on the beach with some cabana boys because I'm dead, I'm gone, and that "value" stretches as far as the headache of her having to sell it all off.

I mean, it's hard to take my eyes off that sweet Spidey & MJ print! The Fairytale bit with the Image Comics parodies, that's fantastic. Ooooh, very cool F13 comic; I'm working on trying to hunt down some horrors comics like that. It's like how many times will they try to change Spidey's costume before they realize we just dig the classic red and blue. lol Laci's actually been in touch with the Marvel Collector Corps because she's behind a few boxes now and we're trying to figure out what the deal is.

Man, you get me us in trouble because you always show off the best variant covers; like, half the time it's a book we're already interested in, but the variants you show, it's like ayup--gotta have that one now!

One of my fave comic runs ever. Loved Bart Sears artwork and the writing was great. Introduced me to my fave superhero Metamorpho so it will always have a special place

Is this comic a continuous story with definitive end? Or is it kinda “episodic”? I heard that these volumes dont contain all of the issues but it’s basically filler. Do you know if this is true?
