I don't mean any hate at all, y'all are a DAMN good drumline.... But I can't stand that the green shorts bass drum always puts his arms down, someone tell him to lock in. (Other than that, great job!)

what do yall call the cadence at 0:40? My band also played a cadence extremely similar but it was slightly different

We call it “Jive”. A lot of drumlines in our area play some type of variation of it.

I like the kids enthusiasm, but I would prefer you teach them, traditional grip on the drumsticks, and teach him the basic rudiments, 13th essential ruins first, then the 24 standard rudiments. As they are learning to accomplished how to execute these rudiments properly, start teaching them, the Army 24, Army 68, downfall of Paris, then crazy Army once they can play those standard drum solos. You will be doing them a favor in the long run if you teach them correctly. Stay away from Rim shots, and juggling. They will thank you for it in the long run I can guarantee it. I started, drumming, when I was 13 years old, 1956. I was originally taught by the cadets from West Point, when I was a Cadet at Mount Saint Joseph Military Academy, then I became a member of, olph ridgeman, from Brooklyn New York, also a former member of the, Floyd Bennett golden eagles also from Brooklyn New York, first album is called brass by night, fire Fleetwood recording company, also former member of the, Long Island Sunrisers, senior drum and bugle Corps 21 and Over. Also co-founder of the American Spirit senior alumni drum and bugle Corps, with, John Dowling, may he rest in peace, he was the drum instructor up for many of the top National and World Championship drum and bugle Corps, winning many individual snare drum competition along with from quartet competitions, he also is a person who developed back sticking. He was a good friend of mine. Today is September 12th 2023. Please teach the kids correctly if you're not capable of teaching them hire somebody that will teach them the proper way to drum. Also would like to mention, Billy Cobham, famous modern Jazz drummer, he was a member of the Long Island Sunrisers.
