I think that light by "2 mode turbo" is where the boost kicks in. Seems to kick in close to 4000, then the RPM go up real quick.

The hesitation in the speedo is due to wheel spin

It's old cars with old speedo cable it's just like tht with most starlets not wheel spin otherwise rpm would would jump
