@@danixinhahhh watched it last night. They pulled off the single take idea well and i did enjoy the look of the film and sound design. The disorienting voices and clicking type sounds worked well. The story didn't play out as a gut punch of intensity and shock but was still executed well enough. I agree, wasn't the most original story and probably would have been more unique 10 or more years ago but i was still engaged with finding out what was going on. Enjoyed it and curious to see what the director does next.

Haven't seen it yet, but cartoonish, over the top gore is fun for Halloween. Something bright and colorful with crazy kills can be good to get in the mood for a party

Seeing the trailer, it reminded me of Tethered. I didn't like Tethered all that much and as much as i like a lot of what Alexander Aja has done, this didn't look very interesting

Solid addition to the V/H/S franchise. Stowaway had an amazing slow reveal into a haunting concept of body horror. Enjoyed all the shorts but Stowaway has stuck with me as the most disturbing and It was the least graphic.

I think we are going through the same watchlist 😂. Watched and commented on your Salem's Lot review and watched the Platform 2 last night and now watching this review. Mostly enjoyed this but i would have preferred it stayed grounded in reality instead of getting kind of fantastical with some of the elements. Some choices were about the visuals, like the raging fire engulfing the character that lit his thin blanket on fire. It looked cool but the story would have been stronger without some of those types of exaggerated scenes. Also reminded me a bit of Snowpiercer, with the struggle for food, established rules and punishment.

@@danixinhahhh i did not rewatch the original beforehand but i probably should have. I recognized the chubby guy with the chef knife and that's when i realized i may be missing some connections between the two. I may go back and rewatch the first while the second is still in my head. A refresher may help tie some of the pieces together

The film has been getting a lot of hate and i don't think it's deserved. I've read the book and seen the original tv movie multiple times and i thought this version held its own well enough. Definitely some cool visuals going on, the silhouetted scene of the kids cutting through the woods was very cool. Not perfect but entertaining enough to check out.

Interesting, a review not realy reviewing much, and spoilers that don't spoil much as well. A big nothing-burger, for about 16 minutes. To be fair, you're not Disgraced Randolph, never go full Disgraced Randolph, so it's kinda fine, I guess. But, next time, please, more solid informations & less filler.

The third act, as I said, really surprised me. It has the same vibe as the ending in the original film but they added something else that shocked me! There's one particular scene that was pretty gross.
