thanks man, but you don't really even start the lesson until almost 3 minutes in - that's a lotta fluff!! Then after you start the lesson, every few seconds you talk about the "# of toms", etc, NO ONE CARES ABOUT THAT!! This would be MUCH BETTER if all the fluff is minimized. In the intro, you stated an entire bar/measure in between the VERY FIRST flam, and the downbeat on the 4. It's supposed to be ONLY ONE NOTE in between - the 3 !! On the 2nd bar, @ time 3:05, the first snare hit is DOUBLE, THEN a single, you got these reversed!!

I think that's right. I originally thought High and Dry but that wasn't in 1997 and also Paranoid Android fits the description too

Exactly that, and Ok Computer was Radioheads third studio album too 👌

Thank you, it's a little bit too advanced for me, but I think I'm going to use it as a practice independence exercise. Thank you again. You're really nice and a great teacher.

Great video. I am surprised that Jamie is not more of a name as a drummer. He really had a unique and extremely compelling style and feel.

I just discovered this and I appreciate the pace in which you break it down. Too many tutorials go through so fast. Your thorough explanation of each bar helped me memorize it. Now I just have to work in the speed.

Thank you very much for this lesson. It’s still helping people two years later! I came here trying to understand how I could be a good enough drummer to handle what Nigel was doing in the song, should be relieved by your excellent teaching method and encouragement. Keep up the good work and don’t forget to lay around the shack till the mail train comes back.

I love the drums on LMEY, Chris Sharrock is one of my favourites drummer. On a interview on 1986, Neil Peart was asked about the drummers who inspired and influenced him and he listed Chris
@DrumsTheWord14 күн бұрын
Haha! I'm 99.9% certain that Neil Peart would NOT have listed Chris as an influence! :)

Rather than plugging your video after drum fill explanation, playing the whole song would have been massively useful. Particularly to the youngsters you mention who don't know the song, As it is, I can only give you 5 out if 10 😢

The groove on this song is beyond the beyond....,so glad you broke it down. Triplets are the key...,playing three in the time of four
@DrumsTheWord22 күн бұрын
For Example 1, I say that both halves of the bar are the same...they are not. My point was that any bar of 12/8 could be written as two bars of 6/8, so please do not be confused by that. It's just a counting and notation thing. Whether played as one bar of 12/8 or split into two bars of 6/8, the drum part would sound exactly the same.
