Most use 1 or the other. With our butter being full bodied it provides some hold. If you want a bit more hold to tame the flyaways, you could use balm instead or just after the butter on some unruly areas.

Hey! Best use for balm is when you need styling. If you’re just looking for nourishment go with beard butter!

I use it at night and almost never during the day in summer but I use it during the day in the winter. I work outside during the winter and butter absolutely protects my beard from freezing temps
