Unfortunately, 4 minutes into the video & you lost me. Game is different than that .. politics, likes & dislikes, stealing credit are some of the key factors in today’s corporate culture .. it ain’t no more about hard vs smart work, some of the commonly promoted individuals nowadays don’t even bother finishing the simplest task.

Underminers often work on getting friendly with the manager to make it easier to undermine others. Ignoring the person is one option. What might they be saying to the manager about you? Always useful to proactively and directly educate your manager about the work you are doing.

This is beyond asinine, no disrespect. Anyone with at least some experience in corpo knows that bootlicking and brown nosing is the best way to progress. It is NOT about networking, it's about sucking up to the right person like a spineless parakeet. If my career progression depends on how far my tongue can go up someone's arse then to hell progressing, I'll focus on doing my thing instead. Ladies and gents, do NOT play into psychopathic managers with less skills than you who use their perceived power to make your life miserable and control you. Rise above.

Just a neverending story repeating over and over. What we like to know, when this will ease or stops? As I understand Pathological liars, bullying, and Narcissistic staff are on the increase more so than ever. I hope eventually they all jammed in working in the same companies that retain these behaviours and see how long the company survives. Because in the end they will all give each other their deadly venom, this is enough to bring a company down.

We all can go on giving videos of examples but this is an old age happening but nothing changes, the bullies retain their jobs or get promoted and you're classed as not a good fit and removed from you job. Until the government recognises this is a serious threat to people's mental health and none productive financially for the company as well as losing good productive staff. What they don't tell you companies encourage psychopaths and Narcs fearing of greater threats from these people. The first time I experienced these evil acts of bullies and the pathological liars was 15 years ago, nothing changed since just greater threats using the system to cover themselves. The victims look edt to battle through tons of paperwork to prove their innocence while in the mean time they continue to gaslighting the victim.

Humans are social creatures and form groups. All groups have some kind of pecking order. When you combine power, insecurities and fears, and groups it seems there will always be some that use bullying to protect themselves or their position in some way. They find it easier and less effort to put others down rather than lift themselves up. J

The good managers and the good companies will absolutely protect staff from bullies - it is 100% in their own interests to do so. Bully destroys trust and teamwork, which in turn seriously damanges individual and team performance. Unfortunately there are too many managers that don't put in the effort to spot bullying or to tackle bullies. I suspect a good portion of these managers simply don't know what to do.

I got a less-than-inflation pay increase after doing four years of work in one. My boss got a new car and was constantly showing up in flashy new clothes though but was rarely in the office. She also denied the materials and time needed to complete the projects she chose but required us to do. My coworkers did maybe 25% of these projects while I did all of them at very high quality with minimal resources used to great acclaim from our users. Managers/owners sure seem like a scam.

I really enjoyed the video and will watch it a few times to really internalize it and apply it when given the opportunity. Could you make a video on how to solve problems with an employee that gives that presents an objection towards your suggestion or current solution?, how to handle an employee who is very direct? Lastly, dealing with different types of people.
@Enhancetraining
@Enhancetraining 15 күн бұрын
@billmedrano8095 I am glad you found the video so useful. With objection handlling I would suggest a few things. Firstly, really listen to what the objection is, understand it and think about it. You are doing this to see if you can use the objection to improve the solution. Secondly, I would ask for the solution to go with the objection. It is easy to object but hard to provide a better solution (and great if they do). Asking questions to understand the basis for the objection is also useful - particularly they are presenting opinion without much to back it up. J

I am a teacher at our school and recently faced a difficult situation. Despite positive feedback from both parents and students about my teaching, my colleague, who is also a friend, spread rumors that I am arrogant and believe I am more competent than other teachers. As a result of these rumors, I was assigned only one class to teach by the headmaster. I am concerned about how these false claims have affected my reputation and professional opportunities. How should I address this situation?
@Enhancetraining
@Enhancetraining 18 күн бұрын
@mrsaffoufa - Your "friend" has put you in an unpleasant and difficult position. A couple of actions that you could take: firstly, speak to the headmaster about your concerns - find out if they have heard the rumours and if these have affected the number of classes you are being asked to teach as a result. Reassure the headmaster that you aren't arrogant or feel you are better than colleagues. I would summarise a number of examples that demonstrate that you don't think this way. Secondly, you could also talk to your "friend". They may have spread these rumours because they are threatened by you in some way (maybe you are better than they are for example). Understanding why they have spread the rumours will help you work out what can be done about their fears. It will also communicate to the "friend" that you will not accept false rumours being spread. I don't know the situation nearly as well as you, so take the best actions for you. Do take some action. J

The words and actions must match on both ends. Documentation is just evidence to keep on or let go of and that’s HR and management has to hold hands into potentially cutting an employee off because in the end it’s HR job to protect the business not the employee. It’s a hard pill to swallow.
@Enhancetraining
@Enhancetraining 22 күн бұрын
I agree. Both sides - the employee and HR/Mgmt - have to do their part. There are so many times where the words and actions don't match (because of a lack of skills, fear, lack of effort or caring etc - manager and employee). As a manager it is really important to give team members fair chances and enable them to be able to meet expectations. It is also important for the employee to try as hard on their side, otherwise the manager has no choice but to remove them. J

I was told last night by another new employee that the team leaders talk bad about me all the time. I have had so much anxiety working during the day with these leaders. I want to quit. Should I confront them and how can I make sure the other new hire doesn't feel uncomfortable if I do. My 3 month review was average and I I received a 30 cent raise.
@Enhancetraining
@Enhancetraining 26 күн бұрын
@christinafisher6169 It would be great if the bosses were brave enough to tell you what they don't like so then you have the chance to do something about is (assuming what they say is reasonable). Talking behind backs doesn't help anyone and when you hear about it, your confidence and trust in them drops like a stone. Be careful how you confront them if you choose to do this. Finding another job in which you are much more appreciated is another good option. Only you can decide what is best for you. Staying unhappy in a job is not going to help you. J

Dealing with a new manager. Who seems very nice and making some good changes. We work retail. One of the things I realized; she doesn't have that much experience dealing with money and how to balance the cash office. She'll say something to me that seems kind of innocent, but then repeat and exaggerates to the manager. Making it seem like I say something, that I didn't. At the same time that she'll get some money wrong. It's just a little bit, but it's always at the time she puts a little bit of doubt about me and my ability, to other managers. When we counted my money down before I went on break it was right. Then when I come back; and somebody else is on the register. We're Supposed to count it again. But Did Not. Now I don't know if the shortage is a mistake the last cashier made or me. That's why it's important always be diligence and inconsistent. If I say something she's just going to😮 double down and they're not going to believe me. Another thing that I realized; that she will markdown high-priced items in half; for friends or family. So I play stupid for right now. To make all of them feel comfortable. One thing I've learned; is that, "A smooth lie is believed better, than a stuttered truth."

@li-ke2599 Sounds like you are in a very difficult position. From what you have written I would question if the new manager is covering up dubious activiites or making genuine mistakes. Gathering examples and evidence of what is happening may be a very sensible move to cover yourself and then you also have the option of taking what you have documented to more senior management if that become appropriate. Look after yourself in this type of situation. J

Maybe this wasn't the right video for my situation, but there was a lot of good information in here. I don't work for a large company, I run a small business. (Truck repair shop). When I opened in 1989 it was just me and my wife. By 1992 I had grown enough to hire two mechanics, both of whom stayed with me for many years. One left in 2012 after getting married and moving away, but thankfully I was able to replace him with someone equally as good. The other left during the pandemic and I have yet to find anyone that stays with me any length of time. I pay exceptionally well and my expectations are no more strict than any other business. Specifically- SHOW UP ON TIME READY TO WORK! We start at 7:00am- this doesn't mean show up at 6:58 with a breakfast burrito that you haven't finished eating. And leave your cell phone in your locker. I have gone through three employees in two years trying to fill my second position that the last person held for nearly 30 years. All three had problems showing up on time and staying off their phone despite my frequent discussions with them. But it didn't end there. One of the best incentives I offer is "if we get X done today, we can all go home early and I'll pay everyone for a full day" this has always worked well until the three newest candidates just stayed the full day and got nothing done. My other incentive is if we fall behind, lets work four hours on Saturday and I will pay double time. This happens maybe once a month. My long term employees loved that opportunity, but the three newest candidates want no part of it. Finally, every Friday I ask to sweep the floor and dump the trash. I am right there with them to help, but the newest three thought it was beneath them. I am ready to sell the business. Or just run it with the one good mechanic that I have. I don't know how I got so lucky in the past, but I am not having any luck now.

I've tried every step you've explained, even taking on the bully and escalating some incidents as and when they happen Trust me nothing works, the management and the HR are always together and colleagues dont care about anything until it happens to them If you are targeted, its best to leave immediately as trying to fight it is a waste of your time and energy I've lost it all by working in such a place, even bad if the people who bully you start harassment outside the workforce even after you leave People who think about torturing others can be addictive and continue doing it to you or others Its only some people who became like that and I've faced it My advice would be to run as soon as you realise your targeted, no need to fight or except right things to happen in a place run by wrong people

Some company leaders allow bullying and toxic cultures to persist in their companies (they might be bullies themselves). Whatever you try, you will not succeed in changing that type of culture (unless the leaders are replaced). @sandhiyad194 - the legal routes depend on your country laws. For example, in the UK you need to be in your job for more than 2 years before you get some legal protection. Great stuff. My team shares work and it has been a constant struggle to get under performing team members to contribute in a reasonably equitable way. This year I have set contribution targets with each person on % of the total workload. I really like the idea of having the team meeting a time for a quick round of reporting in on this and giving details on what they've identified that helped and continue, and others areas that may be holding them back if they didn't reasonably meet their targets. Since this is shared work, do you have any insight on how to put this into play without it backfiring and creating a toxic demoralizing work environment?
@Enhancetraining
@Enhancetraining Ай бұрын
@SutterColin - I think you have to be very careful when trying to encourage participation. Some people don't like contribuing in front of groups (you could ask for email submissions ahead of time), others don't feel safe enough to voice opinions, etc. Setting reporting for contribution may cause more problems than it solves. I would suggest working on making team members feel safe and celebrate comments made and think of different ways you could facilitate contribution for different personality types. Only you know the situation and the people in your team. J
