Hey Joel, thanks for listening! If you, Stu and Kav are ever up for a chat about music we’d love to have you on the show, especially if there’s a new album to talk about. Flick me a note at [email protected], Dave.

I hated Stacy's Mom as a single, but when I heard it in the context of the album I changed my mind. The fact they have Stacy's Mom lead into Hackensack is brilliant because of the dichotomy those songs have with each other. Stacy's Mom is about youthful arrogance and a longing to grow up already and be an adult, and Hackensack is about missing the innocence of youth and living with regret.

Everytime this trailer came on before a movie i was flabbergasted that it was being made. I watched d'angelo wallaces video on this that goes into the lore with the "real" book this movie was based on and how they think taylor swift wrote this movie?? The whole backstory sounds more interesting than the movie plot lol

While I'm writing comments, I'll suggest more shows haha. Danger 5: Freaking hilarious. Can't recommend highly enough. Katla: Completely captivating and haunting and deep. The Forest of Love Deep Cut (the longer mini-series version): My favorite director, Sion Sono. Terrifying from a human perspective, and the main actor is freaking incredible. Kingdom: Feudal Korea but zombies. So entertaining and well done. The first episode is certainly slow, but give it through episode two at least. The Silent Sea: This one I don't recommend quite as highly. It's (probably too) slow sci-fi suspense, but I enjoyed it. Finally, I'll mention the skit shows I've seen, every one of which is 100x better than SNL: WKUK, KITH, Mr. Show, Mitchell & Webb.

Oh yeah! Maya and the Three! So insanely impressive, constantly. And the best voice acting I've ever heard in Saldana.

A good rule of thumb for anime is that you almost ALWAYS need to get through episode 3 before a show starts getting good. You just need to have faith that the first two or three episodes are the worst in the series and it very quickly gets twice as good. Other anime series I recommend for absolutely adults include: Baccano, Michiko to Hatchin, Stand Alone Complex, and Paranoia Agent (from the same people as Perfect Blue). There are lots more, but those are a good start.

I'd never heard of The Lost Room, but the hotel key thing is very similar to a concept in a game I played recently. But I can't remember which game lol! It might be The Medium, but I don't think so. I'll come back when I remember.

Spoilers There is a moment in the movie when Pitt enters Squeaky Fromme's trailer. And she lifts the lock to let him enter. That was the moment I knew (and Tarantino was trying to tell the viewer) that Tarantino was going to alter history. A major theme of the movie is placing the "western heroes" in a real-life scenario. And what if our gun slinging days were still around? Pitt is the embodiment of an anti-hero gunslinger. And how his actions effect the world around him. The other major theme has to do with death and new life. It contrasts Di Caprio's and Pitt's dying careers with Robbie's new career and future as a mother. And they inadvertently save the damsel in distress, as would heroes in an old western. About the level of violence. Tarantino clearly wanted to communicate that Booth is a violent violent person. Time and again they showed us this. It doesn't matter to Booth or Tarantino that the level of violence at the end wasn't justified. That is the person Booth was. That is Tarantino injecting a Western into 1969. Every single decision was intentional.

If you're over 30, and were ever in a long relationship or two, this film will likely resonate with you. I have been on both sides, being the distant boyfriend as well as being emotionally destroyed by a girlfriend. So, I can relate to both sides of this amazing break up film, and it made the experience very personal on many levels. Second, if you have ever had to endure a rough untimely death in the family, or been abandoned by your family in any way having trouble dealing, you will likely find catharsis in this movie. Third, if you have ever enjoyed taking psychedelics, especially in the woods and/or at a festival, this film is must see for you. Forth, if you can appreciate a movie that honors a Kubrickian style cinematography, as well as liking dark comedy, this movie will impress you thoroughly. Lastly, if you like movies that stay with you for days or weeks, haunting your mind with thoughts, images, and emotions, Midsommar will do just that.

If Dani lets Christian live, he would constantly be trying to get her to leave with him. Or, if he got out, he would likely rat out all the deaths to the police, and get the whole cult in trouble. Also, if he lives, it's likely the cult kills them both. So, I believe in those moments of decision, she ultimately chose the lesser of two evils, and to protect herself and her new family (her only source of emotional freedom) by eliminating the last person who could have taken it all away.

I'm pretty sure you all didn't discuss Giggle McDimples, which is a travesty. Because she was the best character. Another notable point is the quality of humor and that this was the only animated film rated 'G' this year. Enjoyable as always though, love your commentary.
