What if my battery is not on fire but just hot on its own? I’m at a remote location and need to find a way to store this faulty battery until I get back to the rental house

Good video, but I've noticed that some sentences spoken by the narrator are literally identical as in Bosch miter saw safety video which was uploaded before this one.

Am I the only one who's noticed that the blade is on backwards for the Black+Decker circular saw at the 3:39 time point? The blade doesn't even look real (don't see the carbide tips that do the actual cutting).

This is utter bs lithium becomes highly volatile in moist condition and will burst into flame putting water would only increase chances of fires instead use mass amounts of salt

""SawStop, the table saw that won't cut off your fingers," uses a very low-cost, but 99% effective Technology to prevent amputation; but "The Power Tool Institute" has invested thousands of dollars to lobby Congress against the application of this tech, a.k.a. CPSC rule. Every day 10s of Americans get amputations due to not having this low-cost Technology Installed in their Power Tools. Read the NPR article: "Despite Proven Technology, Attempts To Make Table Saws Safer Drag On"

Just a reminder you can replace the cells yourself very easily and much ceaper than buying a new battery. Especially fi you are someone who already woeks on stuff with tools inthe first place.

I'll comment again since this is a new post - the Power Tool Institute is a lobbying organization whose goals are to protect major power tool brands and influence government to pass legislation in their favor. Yes, cheap batteries can be dangerous. No, not all batteries are dangerous. Judge the product by reviews and educate yourself on how Lithium Ion batteries work rather than watching a paid infomercial by a lobbying organization on why to buy their products. Source: www.powertoolinstitute.com/pti-pages/about-us.asp To quote them: Our objectives: I. EDUCATE THE PUBLIC AS TO THE USEFULNESS AND IMPORTANCE OF POWER TOOLS Power tools are an important part of everyday life. That is why PTI offers a variety of educational programs and materials to individuals and groups that use power tools at home or in the workplace. II. ENCOURAGE HIGH STANDARDS OF SAFETY IN THE MANUFACTURE OF POWER TOOLS PTI works with various agencies to encourage high safety standards in the manufacture of power tools. Although most power tools are not complicated to operate, basic safety practices must be followed, and the tools must be kept in proper operating condition. III. PREPARE AND DISTRIBUTE INFORMATION ABOUT SAFE USE OF POWER TOOLS PTI is committed to communicating its important message about power tool safety and all the safety “musts” that accompany its products. IV. PROMOTE THE COMMON BUSINESS INTERESTS OF THE POWER TOOL INDUSTRY PTI is dedicated to strengthening alliances among its members and joining forces to pursue common business interests that affect the future of the power tool market. V. REPRESENT THE INDUSTRY BEFORE GOVERNMENT PTI is committed to continuously monitoring codes and standards affecting the power tool industry as well as proactively influencing change when member companies oppose or support government rules and regulations.

1:30 If the PTI (which is an association of manufacturers of cordless tools) wants users to safely transport and store batteries they should provide covers or caps for the battery terminals to users with each battery sold. We're talking a $0.10 piece of plastic here. So if they're really concerned they could find a way for all of them to include caps with each battery. Anyone posting a like to this comment will be voting in favor of my suggestion.

This is valuable advice. I have seen the results of fires and personal injury from "non-genuine" batteries. There is a reason they are so cheap. They are not safe and there is little to no chance for any sort of acceptance of liability from these manufactures. Not promoting any brand in particular, it is advice that should be heeded relating to any brand of battery powered product.
