Saw her at CSLB last night. She is still going strong at 73-76 (who knows, the secret is now part of her persona). A lively warm, person. She had the venue announce beforehand pictures and videos from the audience were permitted. At one point she danced her way back and forth through the audience seating giving hugs and selfies. The last half hour was classical guitar. A real master.

Just a thought, go to the Kennedy Center webpage and nominate her for the Kennedy Center Honors. She deserves it, a great talent in many ways; and as a musician, supreme.

Andres Segovia was NOT a flamenco guitarist!! And that was NOT a photo of Segovia with Charo. However, she did take lessons with Segovia. These reporters. They never get it right.

I must say that Charo's tone is very good. That's a big compliment because when amplified, classical guitars can sound rather "tinny". He tone is very much a result of her excellent technique. The amplification thankfully does not interfere with the tone of her wonderful instrument. God bless you Charo.

I midst saw Charo as a child on Ed Suklivan, introduced by her band leader husband. She did a small simple number, her sensuality but not virtuoso talent came thru. Noe Some 60 years later I am awed.
