Sorry I missed this debate. I did not know this was even taking place 8 days ago. The first time I heard about it was today, on election day. I think there should have been more advertising for this event. I am on all social media platforms daily and missed this if it was posted. Was good to hear everyone’s platforms today even though late. Thank you and hope to see future events like this posted or advertised more across all platforms.

When mom and dad go away for a couple days, my disordered eating goes back in partial remission and my hunger cues shut off. My anxiety goes way up to the point where it’s in the hundred thousands and my dog barks really loudly all night and my twin sister and I can’t sleep the night at all. I need 0.5 mg of Ativan and chamomile tea and 5 mg of melatonin just to fall asleep and ear plugs don’t work. We also can’t feed the pets or pick up after them because the smell makes us both sick due to Autism and sensory processing disorder. We need someone here to help us with making dinner because we like eating a variety of meals but we currently don’t have anyone we can trust to make different meals they support us with our adhd at dinner. They don’t let us go out with friends and my boyfriend when mom is away because they don’t care about my basic social life. My life without the ndp feels like hell.

We don't need housing first for the homeless. There needs to be treatment and incarceration (if dangerous / criminal) first and then supportive housing. What about protecting the environment? What about protecting communities from the drug addicts and criminals? What about keeping communities whole instead of allowing 4 and 5 plexes as in-fill housing, which would inevitably invite slumlords into family-oriented communities? Both Kelly and Allsopp have enabled the worst elements of Belleville's development. The NDP are clowns and the Greens don't even believe we have a right to be here and are even more riddled with identity politics nonsense.

I’m from Guelph but Amanda Robertson should have your vote anyway. Please I have Autism, moderately severe ADHD and Generalized Anxiety disorder. My anxiety has been severe for the last month because I am really worried about this by election. Please vote Ndp I have no job and I live with mom and dad and my twin sister who has the same disabilities but when mom goes away the support I get isn’t great because Ford and his buddies. They keep taking services away from our family and ndp would fix it.

Thank you Belleville Chamber of Commerce for hosting this event and recording it so we can view it online. I was not able to attend, but now I can still hear what the Council Candidates and Mayor Candidates have said. I'm glad to see Canadians be willing to represent our community for our voices to be heard and the needs to be shared.

"Housing first" is a failed policy. If 75% of the homeless are mentally and/or physically disabled, how is housing going to help? We need policing, we need long-term mental health institutions, concrete mental health supports and after these are established, transitional housing options for those that remain. We can't become a magnet city for homeless. Driving along North Front and we saw some unhinged homeless man menacing cars with an imagined bat and other furtive movements. These people don't belong on the streets, terrorizing residents, nor do they deserve unconditional housing. There are solutions, but they need to be based in reality and not rhetoric.
